45 shield cleaning issue
I have a new 45 shield that has been shot 120 times, then stripped and clean. There is a residue in the barrel THAT WILL NOT COME OUT!! Has anyone else ran into this and what did you do to fix it.

45 shield cleaning issue
Picture would help, even more accurate description? What kind of residue? What kind of ammo was shot in it?

Was the barrel inspected before shooting and clean/clear? Have you used a brass brush? I've never experienced residue I could not clean.

Pictures and/or better explanation or "residue".
Do the patches come out clean? Is there a problem with accuracy?
Personally I don't dwell much on the cleaning. A few minutes. I run a brush and a few patches down the barrel and call it a day. Often don't even look back in it

A picture would help but, I'm a firm believer in StrikeHold. It's a cleaner/dry lube that I use on all my guns......even my AR. It'll take everything off but the factory finish and leaves behind a super slick film that nothing will stick to.
I get some interesting looks when I take my AR to the range, because it looks like I'm running it dry but, it operates as smooth as butter.
It's a bit pricey but, well worth it because a little goes a long way.
I bought an 8 oz. bottle, treated 9 guns with it and I've only used about an ounce.
Since then, clean up after a range visit is as simple as running a bore snake down the barrel once, a quick wipe down with a soft cloth and a nylon brush for the tight spots.

120 shots isn't much shooting, but if it is copper jacket stuck in the rifling, I've been satisfied with the results from Hoppe's Bench Rest 9 Copper Gun Bore Cleaner.

I bought my .45 shield about a week ago and have 80 to 100 rounds through it. This is my barrel after I cleaned it today.

I soaked the bore in Hoppe's no. 9 for 5 minutes, cleaned it again. When I ran a patch through again, I got a lot more.
Here's what is looks like now.

I don't think the shield barrel is chrome lined or polished... so not sure what you expect it to look like.

I only use CLP and patches on my guns and they are all squeaky clean. I do clean them after every range trip, though.
