Long time Glock user. Yesterday i shot my Dad's M&P40 and fell in love with how easy it is to transition. Grip angle needed so little adjustment compared to Glocks'. Very accurate. Pretty firearm too.

Is there anyone who switched from Glocks or keep an M&P in the rotation? Would love to hear.

If it makes a difference, the original M&P is often selling for half the price of the M&P 2.0.

I have Glocks and M&Ps (amongst others). They are both excellent, but I prefer M&Ps. The grip (angle and comfort) make the difference for me, since I shoot them both equally well. I don't whimsically switch - If I change back/forth it is only after some range time to refamiliarize myself. They definitely shoot/handle differently. I am a fan of the 2.0 changes, but I have several 1.0s that are well broken-in and work perfectly fine.

The M&P pistols are fine, and the changes to make the 2.0 are minor, in my opinion, and in one instance - that of the very rough texture to the grip - a deal breaker for me. After examination, I have not availed myself of the opportunity to move "up" to the 2.0. It is not likely that I will do so, but I will not rule it out forever.

I switched platforms from being a long time Glock user to the M&P 2.0 I'm very pleased with my choice. I handled alot of brands and models before making my.selection.

I have a 2.0 4.25 barrel ns 9mm and I like it . The best gun is the one that feels the best for you . I also have a ppq m2 . As I said in another post both have their own merit . It seems a lot of the newer SF polymer are pretty similar . Some have complained about the 2.0 grip but when my hands sweat the grip in nice . Have added talons to others because it helps me . If a range has gun rentals try it before you buy it .

Same here. The 2.0's are nicer than the Glocks, but there were a few things that held the original M&P back. Glad Smith improved on the original and made the 2.0. Loving mine. OP, get one I think you will like it.

Yes, the 2.0 update is why it made the list of pistols I considered.

I really like my 2.0 45. Soft shooter and more accurate than I am. Never had the first version M&P so can't compare, but I'm very happy with this one.
I usually bring three handguns to the range when I go and somehow the 2.0 always manages to come along. I like shooting it.

Relatively new to handguns. My first was a Walther PPS m2 for concealed carry. That choice came down to the Glock single stack, Springfiel sub compact, the M&P Shield and the PPS. PPS just barely beat out the shield, as I shot it just a little better (at our concealed carry class qualification shoot, I was able to outshoot several with 4 and 5" barrels).

Also came down to a Walther and an M&P M2.0 for my full sized 9mm choice.

I went with the M&P M20 5" in FDE. I easily get nice tight groups at typical pistol distances with the M&P. I can actually get better finger/trigger position on the M&P M2.0 compared with the little Walther PPS. I did put a pair of Ameriglo I dot sights on it (very nice).

My only real complaint is the damn sear switch for breakdown, and that it only comes with 2 mags. BUT, with the rebate deal, right now, that latter is not a forever issue..

You don't have to use the sear switch. Pull trigger like on Glock

Went from glockturd to M&P without looking back. It's like comparing apples to oranges! S&W does it better by long shot!

When taking down, yeah just pull the trigger like a Glock, but when putting the slide back on I'd advise pushing the lever down in case you slip or fumble putting the slide stop up before you could raise the disassembly lever to prevent damage to the sear or striker.

I switched from a 19 and 26 to a 2.0 and Shield for my carry and HD handguns. The trigger on the 2.0 fixed all my complaints from the 1.0 guns without having to put an Apex kit in. I still even have my Glock TekMat haha.

I have a 27, but it sits in the safe. I replaced it with a M&P compact after I fell in l9ve with my Shield. I am in the process of retiring my P220 Elite Dark in favor of my 2.0 9mm.

I was going to get a 2.0 9mm for work but my part-job mandated a9mm Glock, my fulltime job I supply my own anyway . Just wrapped that job up so I may pick up a 2.0 before qualification time next year. My off duty carry guns are a 9c and a Shield 45.

I have a Sig that came with a very rough grip. I used some fine grit sand paper and smoothed it out a little and the problem was solved. Don't let the grip texture stop you from buying one. You can easily change that.

I'm going to wait until next summer and get a 2.0. I will probably put in an Apex aluminum trigger, I don't like the hinged trigger.

I own a bunch of glocks, I also have M&P's in 40 cal along with a shield. I think my next purchase will be a M&P 2.0 in 9mm, and that is over a glock 17 or 34. I'm really hoping they come out with the 2.0's in the compacts soon, as I've really wanted to get a 9c.

I've owned Glocks for years, ever since the M&P M2.0 came out I was sold! The one & only complaint i still have about the M2.0 is the hinged trigger, but thats a minor issue at best. I will be buying the M2.0 from now on, I've moved on from Glock now. I'm not sure why anyone would even consider a NEW 1st Gen M&P now that the M2.0 is out, unless they can save $200 even then i would still have to think long & hard about it lol. Can't wait till the M2.0 compact hits the stores soon.
