Grip change-WOW
Today I was shooting my CORE and I just never have been able to get really great groups at 25 yards. As I was shooting, I said to myself "I guess this is just as good as you"re going to get". Then I thought maybe if I change the grip from small to medium I'll see an improvement. I did that and yes they were a little smaller and I changed it again to large. My groups became acceptable and I thank S & W for being able to swap grip sizes do easily.

Size does matter !
Grips can make a world of difference when shooting. For years I shot NRA Bullseye and a change in grips could add points to your score.
Herretts would take a tracing of your hand and make grips that fit your hand like a glove. I have one set on a model 41 S&W just for Bullseye shooting and the proper fit does improve my score.
Trying the different sizes was an excellent idea , some folks wouldn't think to try it .

Not having the proper grip on a gun has a similar effect as driving a car with only three of four wheels.
Different sized backstraps help a great deal as each of us has different palm and finger configurations.
The first indication you do not have the best shooting grip on a gun is dry pointing (unloaded) at home. Snap the gun up to a target on a wall. Do the sights align quickly and naturally onto the target? If not, adjust your grip until they do. Move your hands up and/or around the grip. Point your thumbs toward the target. Grip firmly. Try a different blackstrap if available.
Can you reach the trigger easily and without contacting the frame or your support hand? A double action trigger pull is usually fairly heavy and long requires your trigger finger to be at the first joint. Single action triggers and striker fired guns allow you to move the contact point more toward the first pad, depending on the pull weight.
Smaller-gripped guns are harder to grip well and take more effort. These include short gripped compacts and single stack thin guns.
Can you press the trigger (dry fire) without disturbing the sights?
Until you can do this repeatedly at home, your accuracy at the range, especially at increasing distance, will be sub-optimal.

I was lousy with snubs.....
...but I put Hogue and Pachmehrs on mine and my scores were instantly improved.
