Apex Duty/Carry trigger kit in 9mm FDE 2.0

With now over 1k rounds down the barrel in my new 2.0 FDE 9mm and with it being my second M&P, I have decided that I truly do not care for the hooked factory trigger.

Looking at options, but it appears that in order to put a flat trigger in my 2.0, it had to be the whole kit because of the sear. As anyone installed the kit and if so in there 2.0, was it worth it?

Outside of the hooked trigger, no complaints though, clean trigger take up, crisp break and short reset currently.

I think right now because it's fairly new there are limited options. I'd like to know what the differences are between the 2.0 and the available triggers.

Looks to me like trigger kits that fit the 2.0 range from about $120 to $170. How much do you hate the stock trigger shape?

The difference I read from Apex was with the sear.

I shot my G19 for the first time in over 2 yrs, which was b/c of shooting a 2013ish 9mm Pro Series and now 1k rounds through my 9mm 2.0 FDE since then.

The flat faced Glock trigger feels better when squeezing than the hinged M&P

I put the Apex FF trigger kit in my 2.0 5" FDE 9mm. When I first started shooting the gun, I really enjoyed the improved trigger over my 1.0 M&P's. But then I bought a P320 full sized, and quickly realized the trigger on the 2.0 could be better. I don't mind the shape of the trigger, but the wall was harder to get through. This chart from Apex shows it pretty well. You have to pull harder and longer to get through it.


So I put the full FF kit in the 2.0, and it's now pretty much the equal of the stock P320. I got a great price on the 2.0 when I bought it new, so putting the $170 into it was acceptable. And it's made shooting the gun more enjoyable for me, and it's hard to put a price on that.

We are all different with different personal opinions.

I'm a 20 year Glock owner of several different models in four different calibers. For me, the Glock trigger has always been just barely acceptable. In actual use, anything over 100 rounds in a range session and my finger starts getting sore. I have never had that problem with any other brand of handgun, just Glocks.

For the first time ever, I bought an after market trigger for one of my Glock 19s. It's a true flat trigger, which the Glock isn't, so I'll see if it helps.

I personally like the hinged trigger on my M&P 2.0 compact much more than the Glock trigger. My FNS-9 full size and FNS compact have the same type hinged trigger and I like them better than the Glock trigger as well.

We should each use what we like since personal opinion vary.

I totally agree on everyone is different.

I have never had a issue with the take up, break and reset of the M&P's, just simply do not care for the hinged trigger.

The feel of the Glock for me was the biggest turn off. I much prefer the feel of the M&P in the hand(I have perfected the sanding down of the large backstrap with flattering down the palmswells and making the backstrap flat).

I am sold on the 2.0 FDE M&P, so with that and the recommendations from you guys, just ordered the Apex kit from Brownells(plus a .165" Vickers fiber optic front sight) to finish off the pistol.

To me Apex is a crutch some must have it and others can the pistol perfectly without a crutch.Me I will spend my money on ammo.

While I agree that running rounds more times than not overcome modern striker triggers, nearly 4k rounds through the Pro Series and now 1k with the 2.0, I want a new trigger.

I agree that a new trigger may be best for your own situation.

The object of shooting, for me and most likely others as well, is to score hits and enjoy the shooting. If a different trigger than what came on the gun achieves that goal then it is the correct course.

As I said in my previous post, I've never bought an after market trigger before, but I have a new Overwatch DAT trigger waiting to install on one of my Glock 19s.

I do replace sights on all my Glock as I consider the factory offering terrible. Personal preference.

Good luck with your Apex trigger. I consider anything which helps with accuracy or comfort an improvement rather than a crutch.

But, that's just me.

Me, I will spend the money on both. I reload, so really don't spend that much on ammo anyway. But I shoot 200 rounds a week on average.

So I ordered the polymer duty/carry trigger, along with a red .165" Wilson Combat/Vickers fiber optic front sight and a case of 9mm NATO ammo from Brownells.

Like I said, the gun shot low(as I have read it would with the factory front sight) and I already had put a 10-8 .156" wide U notch rear.

Looking forward to getting the trigger installed and fitting the front sight. I plan on a range trip early next week for a range report.
