Good range day w/ shield...finally!
Two things happened today while shooting my shield 9mm..
1. passed the 1000 round mark.
2. 1st time I shot better with the shield than my full size revolver.
I have had the shield since the end of May/ Beg of June thereabouts. It has been a challenge for me to shoot well. Being a new shooter anyways, I have lots to learn but shooting a Beretta 92FS, and my 627 4" barrel have been so much better than this little "plastic" gun...frankly it's been kicking my back side.
The gains over the 1000 rounds have been very slow but today a new thought/idea kicked in and BINGO! I ended up at 10 yards with a 1" group of 3 shots....I know I know...for you experienced people it's nothing to write home about but for me using the shield...it feels like progress with a capitol P.
Anyway, thanks for listening to the noob and I am looking forward to a repeat performance.

I keep a shooting log so I can say with certainty 1 failure at the 260 round mark. It was the first time I shot freedom munitions ammo with the shield. The first box FMJ had that one problem, then I shot another box of 50 which were HP and no problems.
Unsure if it was the ammo or me limp wristing since I was brand new with any semi at that time. Since then only federal ammo and not a hiccup.

One inch at ten yards is very good especially if you were not using any support. I'd be happy to do that with a target gun!

1" at 10 yards is pretty good to me! Personally, I have come to shoot my Shields better than my 4" barrel'd P320 up to 15 yards.
I'm up to >1300 rounds combined through 2 Shields haha.

Nothing to write home about? Well, you must be new because that's amazing shooting.
Without exaggeration, I've seen hundreds and hundreds of people shoot handguns. I've heard many claims of small groups on the internet, but rarely see it at the range. Most shooters are having their best day if they shoot 4" groups at that range. Especially with a small gun like the Shield.
No, a 1" group is amazing. You're clearly doing something right. In fact, this is not a joke, you should look into trying out for the Olympic pistol team.

I agree-- 1" group at 10 yards is awesome.
This was from my last range trip. 15 rounds at 7 yards. Definitely larger than 1".. 2.5" -3" is more like it.
Also you can see some low left when I was not doing my part.

1" is very good!
This if off hand with 9mm and .45 Shield. Tighter groups at 10 yards, more open groups were at 20 yards. The 9mm is easier to shoot, but the .45 is still more accurate for me. I think it is the slightly larger dimensions of the .45 in my case.

Kinda takes me back to those 25 yard threads

Nowhere near 1000 rounds through mine. I'm probably around the 150 mark. I'm still learning how to shoot it. Shot low left when I first got it (obviously trigger pull issues), then I put a Hogue grip on it which helped a lot. I don't have huge hands, but they're on the larger side. Then I put an Apex trigger in (not to correct my shooting, but because my old carry gun, Ruger SR9C, has a great factory trigger, and I can shoot 2" groups at 7 yards.)
Hopefully, I can shoot it like you by 1000 rounds. The Shield has given me trouble.

Shield
My accuracy is also improving. No groupings like the OP. But compared to earlier range sessions, today was good. Target was at 7 yards.
I admit I was really frustrated with my 9MM shield a few months ago. But the more I shoot it the better it shoots!
