Default This is probably really stupid on my part but.....

I am looking at a new S&W M&P 9 Compact and I've seen 10 and 12 shot listed at greatly different prices. Is there any difference in the actual pistols, or just some kind of plug in the individual mags? Im talking about $50 difference between the 10 and 12 shot. There is nothing on the factory website as they are only listing the new 2/0 15 shot.
Thanks

Go by the SW website in terms of spaces. Ads were notoriously inaccurate.

The difference is that the 10 round model was made for restricted capacity states and usually have other undesirable features other than just magazine capacity (heavier triggers, magazine safeties, loaded chamber indicators) this depends on the state in question. The 12 round versions don't have many of these other "features". This is probably why the difference. Either one of the pistols will accept the other magazines (or 17 round magazines for that matter). The "features" can be disabled if you wish. HTH

Thumbs up

Usually guns for restricted states are about $50. more on the same model since as mentioned will have some undesired features!

The (10) round magazine is different and the base plate is different, it won't allow you to convert it into a 12 round magazine.

I see GrabaGun has 12 rd ones for $409 +$8 shipping. Smith and Wesson M&P9c Compact Black 9mm 3.5-inch 12Rd

That's not bad, but if you're a penny-pincher like me, you can get 'em in the low or mid 300s if you're patient and check gun.deals and gunwatcher assiduously.

I got my 40c for $320 and that was with the 3 mag LE SKU.
