Shield light and Laser
Has anyone outfitted their shield with the TLR-6 tac light /laser, if so what are your thoughts on it? How is the laser? How bright is the light? I know some guys hate these things so they need not chime in I understand. Thanks

I have. I love it. The light is bright enough to see what you need to in a good size house and the laser keeps its zero. Doesn't add much weight in my opinion to carry

I have a TLR-6 on my Glock 26 - it's a great combo light and laser. I did find that the laser drifted a little after shooting three mags thru the G26. Not surprising - screws weren't fully tightened ... I tightened the screws after cleaning it & will retry in the next few weeks. For the money - I think they are unbeatable...

I have a TLR-6 on my 9mm Shield. I like it but it makes your sub compact gun kinda big and limits your Holster options. I haven’t carried it much since getting it just because it’s too large for pocket carry now and I haven’t found an OWB holster. I don’t do IWB. I have a PC Shield and other firearms so I do have plenty of other options.
The first one I got did have an issue with the battery door opening but the manufacturer took care of it. The laser and light work good.
I must say there are times when I have been thinking of taking it off and selling it just because my sub compact is not that compact with it.
It does look kool though for what that’s worth.

I honestly don't find that it makes the gun any bulkier. I carry IWB at about 5 o'clock with a tulster holster.

I like the TRL-6, put one on my PC .40 and then got another for my daughter's 9mm. I don't see where the light/laser makes the Shield that much bulkier, it's the size of your thumb, and it all hangs in front of the trigger guard, below the beltline. There are several companies that make holsters, I got mine from Onyour6designs.
Their holsters for the Shield with TRL-6 run from $33.99 to $39.99.
Smith and Wesson Custom Kydex Holster | Custom Concealed Kydex Gun Holsters
The light may be "only" 100 lumens, but is plenty bright for the purpose intended.

I love mine as well. I was looking for just a laser when i came across tlr-6 and couldnt pass up the combo
I would suggest budgeting for a holster if you plan to EDC it. My holster was around $70 for a tulster holster.

I like mine and think is well worth the weight/bulk. The only thing is you have to train with it or you've just added a weight. Reliably activating the light etc takes a little practice

Crimson Trace also makes a laser/light for the shield now, too. Both red and green laser, green being $100 more:
Green Laserguard Pro Smith & Wesson M&P Shield | LL-801G | Crimson Trace
I'll probably be picking one of these up soon. Looks like a great unit. I was tempted to get a TLR, but the fact it won't work with gloves is kind of a show stopper. I use a lot of different gloves, and don't think their stick on deals would work for me, or give me much confidence, personally.

I could manipulate my tlr with gloves, depending on how they're made. I went with the tlr so I didn't have to modify my grip or pressure to turn the light off. And my fiber naturally goes to the button when I draw the gun.

Yeah, see, I don't want it to "depend" on stuff like that. I want it to work regardless of what gloves I may have on.

We have 4 shields, two with CT lasers, 2 with no lasers. We do not notice any difference in the grip between them, and we do not have to modify our grip at all. Can't tell it's there really.

If you know what gloves you wear on a day to day you'll know if it works. That's what my point was. I don't wear gloves even working outside in winter so I don't have that to factor in. To each their own.

That's the thing though, I have like 20 different pairs of gloves I might be wearing, depending on if I'm working in the garage, cold weather fishing gloves, riding my motorcycles, in the winter, etc, etc. Makes no difference with a CT. Can make a critical difference with the TLR. I just would not feel right taking that risk.

Picked up the TLR-6 last week ,nice little unit took it to the range and got it zeroed in after a few shots,Paired it with a Tulster Kydex holster ,doesn't add much bulk and very comfortable.
