Can S&W do anything right!
I just was delivered a new M&P9 c, as I really wasn't looking to buy another 15 shot. Well, I went on line and did an online registration and it worked perfectly. Next, I went for the rebate page. I did everything asked, including uploading my bill of sale, the I pressed the submit button. Guess what? It couldn't recognize the serial number, although the registration page did 5 minutes previously..grrrr. I was bounced to a page that told me to mail everything, which I did, but now I have to mail it and get proof of delivery so it'll cost me at least $5.00 as USPS makes you ship priority. This is my 3rd rebate with S&W and you'd think that they would be able to do a professional job. They must have chimps doing their website work! Now I've vented and feel better

I bet it’s managed by Young America. They are a “wonderful” company to manage rebates. Ultimately, they do what the vendor (S&W) wants but a lot gets lost in practice. I speak as a rebate (not gun related) insider.

You can send first class with a tracking number, which will show delivery info.

It would be my luck that it wouldn't arrive by the rebate closing date. I trust no one when it comes to getting rebates. I'll pay the money just to guarantee that there can be no ,"problems", but thanks for the suggestion.

I hear ya...and I hope you get it all resolved. I bought my Shield 45 before the rebate started. And now they have another one going. If I was King of the World, all rebates would have to be retroactive...but then, if I was King of the World, I probably wouldn't worry about no stinkin' rebates!

Well, S&W is 165 years old. They must be doing something right.

Not necessarily...I'm 66 years old, and according to my wife, I very seldom do anything right.

While I do some rebates, I think the biggest pusher of rebates is the government. If you buy a gun with a rebate available, you still pay sales tax as it has no rebate, then a long time later the rebate gets sent to you, but you get no credit on sales tax. A far better approach, IMHO would be a simple "temporary price reduction", or an instant rebate, that is taken before the sale is rung up at the register.

I buy online. No sales tax, usually free shipping, and a friendly FFL To do a cheap transfer. When I bought my shield, Ila’s at $225 out the door. After rebate of course.

Just have a sell price . I also hate the rebate deal . Must cost them something to hire a rebate company , all the paper work issuing cards , etc . Seems like they would make more money just having a sell .

I've just submitted revolver rebate form online over weekend then monday I've got notification that it was declined. A 15 min web chat resolved the issue. Turns out they have an automatic process to recognize the model and apparently it failed. Employee I've chatted with double checked the data and gave green light to rebate. I think they process current $50 rebate themselves.
