Default Strike industries emp for shield

Does anybody own one of these? Thinking about getting one and putting it on my 7rd magazine. I currently have a Pearce grip extension on it. How do the two compare comfort and size wise? Does it fit tight to the gun or is there a gap as I've seen in some photos?

I have seen them on here. Maybe search and see if you can find the previous threads. I believe they were all positive.

Actually I have two of hem and like them better than the pearce grip although they cost more. IMO they match the contour of the grip.
There is a small gap but you will have a gap regardless the extension, I also have the recover tactical extension and still the gap is min.

I put them on 3 of my 7-round Shield 9 mags and like them. I did have to Dremmel off a little material inside the back of the mag well in order for them to drop free unaided. The lock plate tends to make them stick unless you do. At least they did on mine. I was worried about how well they would work with the stock mag springs but I've had no problems. Still, I'd like to get some stronger springs.

So far I haven’t had any issues with springs and the strike extensions, but I’m considering getting wolf springs in the future just in case and still I have to shoot a lot more. No mods needed during the install.

My extensions work flawless without any "Mods" of any kind!

I have the Pearce plug in my gun as well, will that plate included with the emp need to be installed in order for it to work which would necessitate me removing the plug?

I have a plug that fills in the cavity behind the magwell (line they make for glocks). The metal plate they show in the photo looks like it would go in there. What is that metal piece for?

The metal piece is an extra safety to make sure that the mag spring cant and wont ever come out of the mag.

So the plate is needed.

I have one and have about 100 rounds through the mag with it. Feeds great, no modification done to it. I prefer it over my Pearce. I have or have had just about every mag extension/base plate for the Shield. My Favorites right now are:

Hyve +1 for 7rd (carry light clothing, min capacity)
Recover Tactical Mag Clip 7rd (extra carry mag, min capacity)
SI +2 for 7rd (carry, heavier clothing, max capacity)
Stock 8rd with NeoMag (extra carry mag, heavier clothing, max capacity)

So the combo's above allow me, 7+1+1, and 7 or 7+2+1, and 8, I either carry one of those 2 combos.

Here are some pics for comparison purposes. I currently do not have the Pearce in the line up and I sold my Hyve +2 for the 8rd. It made the grip too long especially for edc for me.

Can only have 5 attachments in one post here is another comparison pic. And you can see why I like the NeoMag on the factory 8rd mag. That is their longer clip too for extended base plates so it sits deeper in the pocket and the reason I just dumped the Hyve +2 for edc. It was too long for an extra mag the way I like to carry and too long for edc in the Shield bc it would print too much in a t-shirt on me.

Hmmmm... I have the Pearce frame plug in my Shield. Could be that it flexxes the handle frame slightly forward into the magwell space. Maybe that's why I had to Dremmel a little material off. Prolly caused my own problem. Wouldn't be the first time...

I think I may get one. How well do they got on the 8 vs 7? I'd be interested in buying 3 if they all fit the same.

They don't fit flush on the 8. Remember the 8 requires that spacer to sit flush. There would be a gap if you put it on the 8 rd and the stock spacer doesn't look right from what I remember.

I didn't tried it on the 8 round mag for obvious conceal purposes, in fact I got rid of all my 8 rounds mags. It fits great on the 7 round.
