Compact 2.0 and Apex/Talons.
Just a heads up in case anyone's curious.I had an Extra Apex hanging around so I put it in the new Compact. Im also not a fan of the new texturing, if you wear yours just under a Tshirt, that texture rubs you raw. I sanded mine down and put a set of Talons for a regular M&P full size. You have to cut them and its not perfect. But I have the Talons on all mine guns and like em.

Pardon my question, but if you put in an apex trigger and took down the new texture, what advantage did you gain by buying the 2.0 compact? The reason I went auth the 2.0 full size over the original was the trigger and texture lol, to each their own. How do you like it?

If Id known the compact was coming I would never have bought the full size. Plus the 2.0 has a stiffer reinforced frame. I was not able to actually hold a 2.0 before I bought it so I didnt know about the aggressive texture. The Apex really does not change much for the trigger unless you get a full kit, more of a looks/comfort thing, Ive never been a fan of that silly piece hanging off the end of the trigger. Plus I already had it. So the answer is, a smaller, stronger package.

So far I love it. Always been a fan of the G19 but never liked the grip. this is the answer.

I used wet dry 400 grit paper, only because I have a ton of it. any 400 will do. Just sand down the areas that are too rough. Just be careful not to go outside the textured area. Once you get it the way you want it, I used a butane torch (One of the small ones) and lightly go over the sanded areas. It turns those areas black again. Sanding them gives them a grey look. Dont hold the torch too long on there, it will melt. Pic of the torch I used, get it at Home depot. Remove the rear grip piece to make that part easier.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Other than he G19 size, might as well have gotten the old model.

Which trigger did you use? My friend said he will give me an apex #100-064 aluminum (not the foward set) for a 1.0. Will that just drop into my new 2.0c ? (m&p 40c 2.0) I know how to install it, but I don't want him to mail it to me if it won't fit. Apex website does not specify a trigger only part number for the 2.0, they will only sell kits due to fitment issues. Seems the 2-dot sear is required for best results, which I can order, just need to make sure the aluminum trigger will drop in. Thanks!

4" barrel instead of a 3.5" barrel. 15 rounds instead of 12 rounds.

Did you use the ones from a standard full size?
Did you just trim the height of them down?
