I am picking up my .40 S&W 2.0C on Monday and had a question for you experts. I am NOT doing this as a caliber debate, this is the pistol I have wanted S&W to make for ten years, and I prefer the .40 for my purposes. This is primarily for protection from unruly critters in the Texas hill country.
Is it safe (i.e need to change anything like springs, barrel, etc) to run say Underwood's 200 grain WFNGC hard cast? Or would you have another recommendation? (I do not handload at this time and frankly don't have the time to get into it as I work 65-80 hour weeks.)
I ask specifically about that load as protection when working at the ranch and want something a lot easier to carry than a 6" 686+.
