It's hard for small companies to self insure.
Even with a Liability policy, it's sometimes better in the long run to pay out of pocket rather than have a claim on your policy. Paying the small claims and saving the coverage for something really big down the road.......kind of like collision coverage on your car....

This is very true and is the same for all insurance policies.

Insurance is really for catastrophes. $300 is nothing compared to a wrongful death suit.

I think that posting the problem on this forum as I suggested above in #70 did put the kind of pressure on the maker that made him realize it was better to pay up than to risk all of us gun owners dumping in him. Thumb screws do work.

I would rather think that the ammo company came here to join in the discussion and provide their side of the story. I feel that they are acting in good faith and not based on threats but to be a good company that takes customer issues seriously. This is a large forum but this thread is not really the nightly news. I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt and will believe that you have a good company here trying to do the right thing.

I will remain so until proven wrong.

Except that the OP got nothing but a lame excuse until the problem became a topic here. I understand giving the benefit of the doubt, but if you read the ammo guys post you will see he reinvented the wheel. Sorry, I just can’t agree that the benefit of the doubt applies here.

Cheap for the company from a PR standpoint.

I shoot Uncle Jim's Best. Sometimes Second Best in non-critical applications.

Great to hear!

I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of this and even more pleased with this site having the influence that the Company came here and posted. Kudos to everyone here.
