Default Which Shield Now??

I started with a stock Shield, and ended up with a PC Shield (9mm/Night Sights/Apex Trigger Shoe), largely because of the better trigger! Now, we'll have a 2.0 Shield!

I'm wondering how the new 2.0 Shield trigger will compare to the other ones?

What are your thoughts on how the triggers will compare??

For what it's worth, I think the more aggressive grip texture and the front "serrations" are a big plus!!

Bonus question: Where's the 2.0 Bodyguard? Will there EVER be one? Now that (imho) would be a big winner!!

Kinda hard to guess what trigger it has having never held one. Could be better, worse or same. Could be like the Shield 45. Like guessing on what their next gun will be!

I have one and it's ok. Had to add a rubber grip sleeve because the grip was too thin. Only way I'd change to the new one is if the grip is a bit thicker

I watched a FB video of Julie Golob talking about the new 2.0 Shield; sounded like the 2.0 trigger is improved and crisper over the 1.0 with a little different feel than the PC's trigger.

I have a PC Shield and am 100% fine with it in stock form; I doubt i'd go for another Shield but instead could see considering the new 2.0 compact for the collection.

I have a Shield 9 1.0, and a Shield .45 (2.0 beta?). I've never had a problem with either trigger. My guess is that any trigger improvements will be very slight. It would be interesting to have shooters fire 1.0 and 2.0 versions without knowing which one they're shooting, to see which they prefer.

I have the “aggressive grip pattern” on my .45 Shield. One problem.., it can rub you raw if you carry it next to bare skin. IWB-OWB. No difference. It can get more than a tad uncomfortable real quick

Here's the good news; a lot of great condition used 1.0 Shields going to hit the market for record low prices.

You can sand the texture down a bit if desired.

Looks like the 2.0 (based on the pictures) are taking the texture from the 45 Shield. Probably using the slightly better Shield 45 trigger.

I'd still put an Apex sear in there.

The rougher texture of my 2.0 motivated me to put a "sand" version of the Talon grip on my PC Shield. It's rough alright, but I like the extra traction it provides when shooting!

I just had the opportunity to get my hands on a Shield 2.0 for a few minutes. I was not overly impressed with the trigger. Very mushy and gritty. But the audible reset was nice. I have 2 Shield 1.0's. One stock and the other with the Apex Ultimate Striker Block only in the 2nd one. My stock Shield 1.0 trigger is much nicer than the 2.0 I tried today. We only have about 300 rounds through the stock 1.0 Shield. ( It's my wife's ) The other shield with the Apex Ultimate Striker Block is great. I'm sticking with our Shield 1.0. I do like the grip texture on the 2.0.

For a penny to a nickel's worth.....I have had both the Shield 9 and traded it for the Shield 45 due to the trigger in part. They say the 2.0 shield 9 has the same trigger as the 45...I don't know that as a fact, just what I hear......IMO the .45 trigger is better than the old shield 9..so the 2.0 if the same trigger as the 45 is better.

Better trigger, worse trigger, all subjective opinions.

Here's a few facts: I measured my triggers with a Wheeler pull gauge, placed half way between the tip of the trigger and the hinge.

Shield 9mm's, unfired: 6.5 lbs. Fired 50 rounds: 5.75 lbs.
Shield 40's, all fired 100-200 rounds: 5.5; 5.6; 5.4; 5.7 lbs.
Shield 45's, all fired 100-200 rounds: 5.1; 5.4, 5.3; 5.5 lbs.

My experience with my Shields shows dramatic trigger improvement after about 50 rounds and a clean & lube. Triggers get smoother, lighter, crisper with shooting. Who needs an Apex with these results?

Totally in agreement with the above....My shield 45 trigger got much smoother and crisper after about 2 - 300 rounds fired...
It's at the point I don't want any less trigger pull.....

My buddy and I both have .45 Shields. (And several other guns). We both agree that the Shield is amazingly accurate and the trigger should not be any lighter in a carry gun. I don't think the 2.0 is worth taking a big loss on my 1.0 9mm, but for someone buying thier first, it makes it more competitive. Particularly with the $20 laser!

Currently looking at the 2.0 Compact. Really like the grip texture in my hands, but will have to do something about it up against my side!! I really hate to cover it with a Talon grip OR sand it down. Reason I mention, is it looks like the 2.0 Shield has the same texture. I put a Talon grip on my BG because it would rub me raw....normally carry my 1.0 Shield. BTW, my 1.0 Shield has a better stock trigger than my 1.0 FS with Apex carry kit (don't have the trigger). I'm happy with my 1.0 Shield. Also happy with my wife's 1.0 PC Shield. Check out the 2.0 Compact.

I have both the PC and Non PC 9mm Shield and don’t plan on getting a 2.0 Shield anytime soon. If it were just the matter of wanting a better trigger put an Apex in 1.0 Shield or at least that’s what I would do.

I may at some point get a full size M&P 2.0 but just don’t feel the need to get another polymer gun.

+1. I have a shield and would one with an integrated laser but not worth taking a loss on the 1.0 for the 2.0. I am currently looking at the APEX trigger

I recently acquired a Shield 1.0 and intend to keep it. It fired 200 rounds of mixed standard velocity ammo (ball, new HP, 30 year old HP) flawlessly on its first trip to the range. I didn't try my last 2 boxes of Super-Vel. It produced a group better than the best I ever managed with my 39-2. Trigger reset means little to me, as I shoot the same way I did the 39 and do my DA revolvers: fully forward, press again. I don't hear clicks well through hearing protection and I shot so long without it I don't hear many clicks at all these days. The grip is the closest thing to the 39 that I've found and the 39 fits my hand perfectly.

It's true beauty to me at this point is that it is a lightweight belt gun that can be pocket carried when appropriate; a thinner 642 with 3 more rounds. An M&P Compact would be too thick. The BG (or my RM380) is strictly a hide-out.

So no, I'm in no hurry to replace it with the latest iteration.
