Default Performance center barrel

Is the performance center barrel better then just the plain m&p barrels or is it just the trigger and few other things that make them better

my PC Shield has a ported barrel/slide, i can only assume the barrels on other PC models would be similar (ported).

Seems to help in a small way on (perceived) muzzle flip; trade off it runs dirtier

I doubt the porting would itself affect accuracy much if anything; perhaps the overall PC package with better trigger and (again perceived) lower muzzle flip could help esp on follow up shots.

I dont shoot anything from rests so any comparisons I would do are strictly by feel and nothing scientific.

You may get better feedback if you list the model you're considering; then perhaps some owners of those exact models could give specific details/experiences.

no, the barrel is not of a better quality or tighter dimensions than the regular ones. I thought at one point that the PC guns came with a "match grade" barrel but was proven wrong. in fact, other than the porting, I actually think the regular ones are better because they are nitrided. gives them a harder surface that will wear better and higher lubricity. I have a PC CORE upper for my 1.0 .40

Love my PC Shield 45. Handles and shoots better than my Shield 40.
