Bought a S&W sheild June 2017 sent the rebate digitally that day and still haven't received it six months later in December. Anyone else have this issue? What should I do?

Go here, Milano Online Rebate Inquiry Enter in Your Zip code and Last name only. These guys handle the rebate. It will tell you if you are in correctly. It took them two weeks from when I entered to have me show in the system. Then it was a full 10 weeks after that.

I turned mine in in June as well. It took them 4 months just to update their website showing my valid submission even though the website says the entry was validated in September. The shipping date is still blank and so here I sit. Im just waiting it out and maybe ill get it just in time for Christmas. Then again it took the ATF 14 months to approve my tax stamp for my suppressor so my patience level is way up there now lol

If it has a shipped date is that supposed to be when they sent the rebate? Mine comes up and has a September date listed, so maybe they sent it and I never received it. If that's what the shipped date means.

They send it in a very small, nondescript plain envelope, so it'd be easy to toss with the junk mail.

(This from Wikipedia.)
Not all buyers will meet the criteria to receive the rebate. Companies often require the original UPC barcode, receipt, and additional information, which a buyer may, "Forget to include" when redeeming the rebate. Companies almost always add other caveats to the rebate as well, such as the redemption having to be postmarked by a certain date. Another tactic that might be used is to disguise the rebate mail (check) to look like junk mail, so that the customer may overlook it. It works in the company's favor if buyers do not act quickly to redeem. However, a University of Florida study notes that shorter redemption periods actually increase the redemption rate in the consumer's favor because it gives them less time for procrastination to set in.

Yeah, I put that in the Wiki article a while back after collating the complaints from his forum . . .

LOL, I wonder if the North American Rebate and Refund Industry Trade Assn. puts on seminars titled something like; "Slippin' Through the Cracks: How to Get the Marks to Trash Their Checks" or "Ti-i-ime is on Our Side, Yes It Is!: The Stretch-Out, How to Make it Work...and Not Work."
There's probably consultants who make big coin.

I got mine several weeks ago, no problem.
However as others have mentioned, it was mailed in a small "generic" envelope. Thanks to this forum, I was expecting this, otherwise I might have missed it. I suspect that more than a few Shield buyers have actually tossed the thing in the trash without realizing it.

Yeah, I'm worried that I may have trashed mine. It said that it has shipped, but I haven't seen it.

20 weeks and still waiting
Sounds like you may have me beat. I mailed mine (for ammo, mags, etc.) on July 25 and am still waiting. I really think S&W's performance is horrible. Their pres. wrote an email back in June, I think, apologizing for their abysmal performance and then just started another rebate program with worse performance and have just started yet another rebate program for revolvers.

Get in line. Mine was accepted on 8/31. Apparently they ran out of magazines for some guns.

In June 2017 I sent everything in and waited. Oct 2017 received a letter my submission was invalid????.Resubmitted everything AGAIN and now on the rebate inquiry line I have been pending since Oct.8.I have since traded the gun and wonder if l will ever see mags and loader. What a way to run a promotion.Any other rebates they have they can shove them as far as l am concerned.Wonder if S&W reads any of the internet forums?

I purchased my .45 Shield back in August 2017 and submitted the rebate paperwork. After numerous attempts to check the site for my status it finally stated that there was an issue but that I would receive the package back shortly for correction. That never happened so I finally called the toll free number and learned that they were rejecting my receipt. Unfortunately the dumb dumb at the gun store hit the miscellaneous merchandise key instead of firearm key and the rebate company felt that my receipt could have been for ammo or anything else.
I contacted the store whose owner initially claimed that they would never have done that until he looked at my file. He was very apologetic and mailed me a hand written receipt the next day.
I called S&W today and asked what I should do. They referred me back to Milano Promotions who handled their rebate program.
I called today and spoke to a lovely girl named Jay who told me that my submission was being held and listed as incomplete. I explained the receipt issue and she had me fax over the copy that I received. 15 minutes later she called me back and said everything was good and my check would be sent out.
Now the wait begins again.

My wife submitted her rebate information about last June. Time rocked on and she finally received a letter saying some information was wrong. She filled out and mailed a corrected form and received the rebate in a couple of months.
Have a blessed day,
Leon

Well, joy of joys, the check arrived today. So $414 OTD minus the $75 rebate and my .45 is finally down to $339.
It took a while but I am happy.

Only nine months! Wow, a fertile woman can make a baby in that amount of time as well.

S&W contracts out the rebate programs - doubt you will get much sympathy from the factory. As noted, the check comes in an envelope that looks like junk mail and I almost threw mine away... had a buddy that did throw his away and they will not replace it with another check according to what the contractor told him.
