Buying ammo online?
Anybody order from Bone Frog Gun Club? They have a good deal on Federal HST compared to what I find them locally. Cabelas is $23 ish for 20ct . Bone Frog is $17.75 for 50ct, plus $14 shipping

Start reloading, my cost for 9mm varies from $0.10 to $0.15 per round (depending on bullet choice). Whichever way you figure it that's at least half the price of buying pre-made ammo. If you shoot a lot, the cost of buying the equipment is amortized very quickly.

I or rarher my wife ordered 5 boxes of 124 grain std lressure HST i think also at the $17.50 and they came in fine from bone frog. Not sure what the S&H was for average per box total OTD.
Looked the other day, and they were out of stick for the 124 HST. Did they get more in stock?

That's a good price. SG ammo is pretty much my go to guys and they have it for $19.95 a box. $18.95 if you buy 20 boxes. They are also reasonable on shipping but $14 shipping sounds very fair.

I got the same price from Bone Frog this summer, I can't remember anything bad about the transaction, so it must have gone smooth. I only seem to remember the bad merchant experiences.
I think I got 4 boxes, so the per box shipping wasn't too bad.

I just received my third order from them. No problems at all. Email when they receive the order and tracking when it goes out. Put yourself down for emails it out of stock and they will let you know when it is back in.

I buy from freedom munitions, usually shipping is free depending of the amount you order or very cheap.

Ammo
I watch Cabela's for there sales on ammo. Most of the time there shipping is very cheap or free. Normal pricing is high.

I joined the target sports biting club. Better prices and free shipping on any order. I buy 10-15k rounds of various ammo every year for classes and just weekend shooting so the membership cost was more than worth it

That may have been true 4 years ago, but not now. I bought Herter's brass 9mm from Cabela's yesterday at $9.89, minus 10% off everything with free shipping, and paid with gift cards bought at 80 cents on the dollar. Final cost $7.12 a box, 14.24 cents/rd. Didn't have to buy any equipment or spend hours reloading it.

I placed my first order from Bone Frog about a week ago because of the killer deal on the 147 gr HST’s. Ordered 500 rds and received them yesterday. You need to order enough to make shipping make sense, but at $22.00 shipping on the 500 rds, it was a great deal on the HST’s. As stated above, SGammo and Target Sports are also excellent sources.

I have 3 reloading machines, 2 lee pro 1000’s and a Dillon 550. I also have a couple of single stages. I won’t waste my time reloading 9mm or 5.56. At one time I thought I was saving money but considering what my time is worth it doesn’t make sense. Now the only thing I reload is 300 Black subs and supers and 308 subs. I have about 5000 224 bullets and about as many 9mm but will just hold on to them if there’s a panic again.

I have had similar good experiences with Cabela's. Since I started occasionally checking their website they seem to often run sales that includes free shipping with no minimum purchase in addition to a discounted price on the ammo. I usually buy Winchester white box NATO 9mm, which is at $10.99 now, or Hornady, have also tried the Herters and a few weeks ago they had an incredible price on IMI in the store. I got the Cabela's Club Visa and seems like every time that I order ammo there are always a few bucks I get back from the accumulation of points so makes the bottom line deal on my ammo order just great for shipping right to my door. I sometimes buy only a couple of boxes so as not to pass up a great deal, still get the free shipping, which is great as many other places you have to buy large quantity to get free shipping.

Armscor on target sports is usually around $9 a box and shoots well. It’s my go to range ammo or training ammo when I’m taking a class where I will shoot a case in a weekend.

I have bought from 5-6 online sources. No problems w/ any of them. Then 6 weeks ago I saw Federal for sale at my local Walmart. 115g ball aluminum for $17.69/100 rnd box. Same thing in brass is $18.70/100 rnd box. The brass is packed weird though. Open the top of the box and there are 10 rounds laying there next to each other on a piece of cardboard. USe them, remove the cardboard, get the next 10 rnds. Since I have shot maybe 500 rnds of the aluminum which is packaged normally (bullet down in a plastic divider) I doubt I will buy any more brass. I noticed yesterday that they also have some HST. I didn't note the specifics though. This is as good as any deal I have ever had online so it may become my standard source.

That packaging is how federal keeps the price down. Others do that as well. Winchester just dumps them loose in the box. When Cabela's had a super sale I bought some of the 50 round plastic cases for my calibers, and use those to repack what I am taking to the range. My range inspects all ammo that is not actually factory sealed, so it makes it quicker to get to my lane.
(Look in the reloading area for the plastic Plano clamshell boxes.)

Just received my package from Bone Frog today. Ordered 3 boxes of 9mm 124 gr HST. Price was $17.75 a box and about $15 for delivery. Ordered last Tues evening, was on my door step in MI today. Next time I'll remember to place my order early on Monday in hopes it will make it by the weekend. Day off work tomorrow, so I'll be testing it out.

Came out to around $.43 per round. I thought that was pretty decent. My local Cabelas was a little more then $1 per round.
