Default Difference in Shield and Shield 2.0 in 9mm

What changes were made to the Shield with the 2.0 version?

Both are still available, with the Shield running a little less because of model change.

Shield 1.0 and Shield 2.0 are both good buys, with the 1.0 now being an especially good buy. The two most notable differences that stuck out for me personally were improved grip texture and improved trigger.
Either one is a good choice for CCW. I luv my compact and full size Glocks, but in the "sub-compact single stack" category, Shield is King in my armory.

I have the 1.0 shield with an apex aluminum trigger kit in it. I also have a 2.0 full size with an apex kit in it (not that it matters for this comparison). If the shield had the 2.0 texture I would hate carrying it. I like how smooth and comfortable the shield is to carry. I have my shield in a tulster holster with a streamlight tlr-6 attached to it and its still comfortable. I'd suggest the 1.0 if it will more than likely be contacting your skin and you're going to change to an aftermarket trigger anyways. If you'll carry OWB or with a shirt tucked in and you like the texture, go with the 2.0. The difference in triggers isn't enough for me to choose one over the other if buying brand new.

I have the Shield 9 1.0 PC. I bought it before the price drops.
I also have a Shield 45 with the aggressive grips and front slide serrations.

1. The PC trigger is supposed to be better, I do like it.
2. The front slide serrations are not an issue. I don't use them.
3. The Shield 45 grips are WAY better. Got Talon grips right away.

Now, I'm pretty much set with the Shield 9 1.0. If it got stolen, I would definitely get a 2.0 replacement. But, barring that, I don't have any desire to upgrade.

Got my Shield 9MM, Gen 1, in a trade. It came w/factory night sights, no safety and three mags. I’ve only had it a few weeks and have put over 300 trouble free rounds through it. I did add a Pachmyer grip sleeve but that’s it. At 7 yards offhand I cut the center out of a standard bulls eye target, about a 3” group shooting slow. The trigger is crisp w/a short reset measuring @ 7 lbs. consistently.

Full stimpling of the grip, serrations on the front of the slide, improved trigger on the 2.0. I have a 1.0...added a Hogue sleeve (like the feel better) I replaced the trigger...and who needs the serrations on the front of the slide? JMO

Old thread that popped back up. Same for me. I really like the double stack Glocks, but in single stack, I like the Shield way better than the G43.

I have the older Gen 1 Shield 9mm and I LOVE it! I did end up stippling the grip, but the stock trigger is good enough for what it is. I couldn't justify going to the Shield 2.0 for such minor improvements...

I also have a Gen 1 Shield 9. I like both the grip and trigger the way they are. Mine also has the safety. I like that the safety is there although I rarely use it. I think if my Gen 1 got stolen I'd look for another Gen 1. For what the gun is I think it's about perfect. I don't try to make it something it's not.

I have had a gen1 since they first came out. I changed the sights, had a trigger job done on it and put a Talon Grip on it. I will probably put an Apex Trigger in it. I paid too much for it in the beginning and now have too much invested to switch out and with the changes that I have made to it, it is probably everything that the gen2 is and then some.
