Default Range Day with my new M&P 2.0 Compact.

Finally got to the range after purchasing last week.

I freaking love this gun. What a smooth shooter and accurate. Recoil is smooth just a joy to run.
Shot 50 rounds of MagTech 115 Grain and 150 rounds of American Eagle 115 Grain and 1 round of Federal HST +P that I had from a box bought a year ago this month.

No malfunctions flawless operation.

I know many don’t like the trigger but it’s fine to me. Even after 200 rounds it smooth out nicely in my opinion. I won’t be changing it.

I like the sights the white dots are good. I would like night sights but I like the stock M&P sight picture. I think I would go with S&W night sights instead of aftermarket.

So far out of my 3 9mm Compacts
It’s
1. M&P 2.0
2. Sig P320
3 Glock 19 Gen 4

Now I gotta get more range/ practice ammo. Range Day with my new M&P 2.0 Compact.

Glad you enjoy it. S&W has a winner with this gun. I have one in 9, but might pick up another in .40sw.

These (range reports) are some of my favorite posts on this outstanding forum. Nothing beats hearing from real-world users rather than those who might be reviewing a gun made by a company that spends a ton of advertising dollars with the publication.

Glad you like it as well. I'm very happy with mine. I'm ok with the trigger, but after all the hype the "2.0 trigger" I find, at best, slightly above average. I don't find it significantly better than my dad's several year old 40c, and my example has not really smoothed out after a little over 1000 rounds. Still, I've had much worse triggers, and just about everything thing else is fantastic. Enjoy your 2.0 compact!

Enjoy it, they are great pistols! I have over 3,000 rounds now through a couple of them with zero issues. I like the stock sights too! The trigger was ok but I put an Apex DCAEK in mine and now it is my favorite striker pistol.

I have the 2.0 full size and love it. I put some tritium trijicon sights on it and an apex trigger kit and it's my favorite gun. If I could do it over again I would have skipped the shield and the full size 2.0 and just bought the 2.0 compact.

Did you install the sights yourself? If so what sight tool did you use.
I was looking at Trijicon HD’s

I can vouch for the Trijicon HD's - excellent night sights. The orange outlined front really stands out. I had my lgs put mine on.

I picked up my 2.0 compact on tuesday. I'm hoping to get to the range this Friday . I looking forward to getting to know it. I rented one a few months ago and liked it.

I did. I switched the stock white dots out first with hi-viz fiber optics. They were great. I ran red up front and black in the back. I enjoyed them during the day and at the range, VERY quick acquisition of the front sight. But at night it left something to be desired in a dark room. I couldn't see the gun in the dark which was a problem for me. My shield had stock tritium sights but I didn't always want it on my night stand so I switched to trijicon bright and tough a few weeks ago. In the future when either gun needs sights I'll put in a fiber optic/tritium hybrid sight and call it a day. I installed the sights myself with a hammer and brass punch, both sets. The front sight of the hi- viz set took a bit of fitting with a file on the bottom but the trijicon were a perfect fit. Both back sights punched in with no fitting. The brass from the punch was all but impossible to get off whatever finish it is hi-viz uses, but it wiped right off the trijicon sights.

I fired my 2.0 Compact last week with a box of Tula 115 grn RN. No issues. I like the grip, like shaking hands with a firm handshake. I used the Tula because I didn't feel that I wanted look in the snow for the brass. I used a RST tool to install the night sights.
