I see S&W offers the Shield M2.0 with integrated laser (both 9mm and 40SW) but not available in the Shield 45. Maybe it will be offered later? I realize the Shield 45 is not marked as 2.0, but I would think it would be easy enough to include the Integrated C.T. Laser in the .45 as well! Any Thoughts?
I've always been interested in lasers but never had one until yesterday. Like most anything it is not a cure all for defensive work.
I just got a CMR-206 Crimson Trace universal rail (green) from MidwayUSA, $125 and free shipping plus CT has a promotion so I get an identical laser (this one is red only) for free!
Tried it last night and it is BRIGHT, puts a focused dot on things far beyond what most people would call defensive distances.
Regardless of what CCW use it gets, I will have fun with it.
Suspect your integrated laser will be every bit as good and is tailored to your Shield. Enjoy. Don
I see the integrated laser on the 2.0's as a step down from the one the 1.0's came with since you have to push a button to turn it on. The "laser guard" style the 1.0's have is much better for SD since there is nothing to turn on. Grip the gun and it's on. If I were contemplating this decision today, I'd buy the gun w/o the laser and buy a laser guard model from Crimson Trace. In green, BTW. We have both red and green and green is FAR FAR superior in any kind of sunlight.
