First S&W! Bodyguard
Hey all! Just got my Bodyguard. Traded a slightly modded mosin and $50 to a gun shop. He sells these for $335 so I wanted one bad. I haven’t taken it out yet but I’m pumped to have this little pocket/backup gun. My EDC is a Springfield XD mod 2 45.
Only thing I’ve done is strip and clean then color fill.

I’m a fan of the .380 Bodyguards. Been pocket carrying mine for about 3 years. It’s never given me any problems.

Great choice. My BG is about three years old, and I really enjoy it. Like all pocket pistols, it can be "ammo sensitive". After testing several different factory loads, I found it likes Hornady American Gunner the best; and well over 800 trouble free rounds since, it still shoots great and remains totally reliable

Congrats on your purchase. My EDC is a shield 9mm, but I have a BG that I pocket carry when I need deep concealment. Mine has been reliable also.

Thanks everyone! Is there any mods or anything like that I should look into? My biggest one is probably a Galloway precision trigger kit. And while I’m doing that should I just go ahead and do the mag release too? It’ll be a little while until I do anything but I’m tryin to make my list.

Other than painting the front sight, I left my BG box stock. I believe the design is exactly what it needs to be for its intended purpose. Mine goes to the range with me at least once a month and gets three or four mags run through it just to keep me used to the trigger compared to my other pistols.
As with most other owners on here, mine has been flawless through countless rounds but there have been a few that have had issues. There's even one on here who sold his without even firing it. Guess he thought he was buying a target pistol

I definitely know this isn’t target. Haha but I fear that the shear difference of this compared to my mod 2 might throw me off quite a bit if the need for a backup

I inherited my BG from my wife. She couldn't deal with the stiff trigger due to arthritis. I traded her my Taurus TCP which she really likes. I've come to be very fond of shooting and carrying the Bodyguard. And it goes well with my Shield 9. I thought about the Galloway trigger but decided to just leave well enough alone.

Can everyone tell me what their holster choice is? I really want this for a pocket gun as in the summer I’d rather not constantly wear a heavy belt and stuff. Basketball shorts or light shorts. Right now I’ve got just a simple slip pocket holster but kinda want a Kydex or something. Before I shell out for a Alabama I want everyone’s opinions

I like the Desantis Pocket Tuk. It's leather, works great, and I have one for the Bodyguard, the Shield 9, and the Taurus TCP. I've carried with one for 5 or 6 years now.

I'm using a Desantis Nemesis. No complaints.

I now use a small Pro-Tech. I had a leather pocket holster for a while but found the simple cloth/nylon holster is much more comfortable in my back pocket.

I carry two BGs at the same time. One in a DeSantis Superfly pocket holster, and one in a BugBite ankle holster.
BTW, I have never seen a color-filled mag before. You may be the first one to do it.

Thanks. I’m definitely not the first. Lol saw a video on you tube so I did it. Helps with quick looks. And looks cool. Haha

Midway has the bodyguard pocket tuk on clearance for 12 bucks. But there’s no option for with laser. Will both guns fit the same one?

How about a dot of red on the safety to show when its in the fire mode. This should be a law for manufactures in my opinion.

Good idea. I haven’t decided if I’ll carry with the safety on. It’s difficult for me to deactivate it and with the trigger pull of 267lbs I’m not too worried about that. Haha

No, it won't fit. My BG doesn't have a laser. DeSantis offers one for the laser. $29.99. Plus shipping. Be sure to choose left or right hand.

I rolled my own pocket holster.... It's sorta prototype permanent in that I've been using it for several years and just added the mag holder yesterday after telling myself that I needed to get a round tuit.
Someday I might actually make the production version with a few changes.

I’d love one of those but, I’d like it to be a little higher leather coverage, closed ended, and no mag pouch. Picky much? Haha looks great though!!

As it is I made it from a scrap left over from a knife sheath project so the shape is a little wonky.... happened to fit the gun and pocket.
If/when I do it again, the butt end will be deeper with a finger relief to help getting it out of the holster and the mag holder will be integral and not tacked on.
The pocket I made it for is deep enough that I could close the end.
How high would you want the leather to go? Not only was it that, "That's where it ended up" but I was also avoiding the mag catch.

Come up the slide an inch or so. Just to break the print a bit. I love the idea for sure
