Well after thinking about it for a couple of years, I decided to go look at a 9mm Shield at my LGS. I liked it but the one I was looking at was almost $80 more than their advertised price. After I questioned it the sales guy that was helping me said they were out of the "regular" Shield, but this one has night sights. I was probably going to add sights anyway so I decided to buy it. When he brought the box up to the counter we were surprised it came with 3 mags. 2 8rd and 1 7rd. He admitted he is not a S&W expert, but said he had never seen a Shield come from the factory with 3 mags before. Just curious if that is normal, and I have to say $80 seems like a good deal for night sights and a extra mag. By the way the Shield is fun to shoot and great to carry concealed.

Could be an LE model. Look for the LE suffix on the box UPC

That's how the other M&P's that are for LE that I have seen are packaged (3 mags and night sights). Assuming same for Shields.

My 9mm Shiedl came the same way, was not LE model. If you look on the S&W website, I think it still shows the package.

Yup, that's what mine came with when I got mine. Of course the original owner could have bought just one extra magazine but I doubt it. My G19.4 came with 3 magazines as well when the normal is just two.

The night sights are worth it alone. I suspect they add the extra mag just to make the extra $ more acceptable.

Mine was bought some years ago, and I don't remember how many mags it came with (two or three). I've bought more than a few since then.

Night sites and an extra magazine for only $80 more is a worth while upgrade in my opinion. Sounds like you got yourself I nice package.
