Not much better than having a partner you love, and love doing your hobby with in the little spare time we have in life. Count it a blessing if you have such a deal.

My wife, my son, and I shot for a couple of hours yesterday morning as well. It was a bit windy, but it always is here this time of year. We had a blast. Well, actually a few hundred of them. We shot a varied assortment of pistols and carbines - M&P 9, CZ Rami 9, Sig P938, Taurus PT609, Bersa Thunder 380, TriStar T120, Hi-Point 995, M&P 15 Sport II, and another AR that has a Del-Ton lower with a custom upper, and 2 M&P 15-22s.

I just got back from a training session with my Springer: shot 4 rounds of 16 ga to drop birds she flushed and then retrieved.
Low volume but very satisfying for us both.

I made it to the range yesterday and ran a few "new to me" revolvers through their paces. The 2.5" Model 66-1 and 4" Model 31-1 made me want to stay there all day.

My sons and I did today. We took my 2.0 9c to finish breaking it in for carry (275 rds of mix billed weight and profiles, total round count is now 675), Henry Golden Boy in 22mag, and my Dad’s old Glenfield 22. My sons ran the Glenfield, I broke in the Golden Boy and they ran a box each through it. Lastly, I ran the 9c to the point where it is now on my hip instead of my PC Shield 45. When you can ring the 100yd gong 11 out of 15 times with 147gr Win WB fmj, it just becomes your daily carry in a TT Gunleather IWB holster. We had a good time the day prior with my PC 625-8, 442-2, and the GSG 1911-22. I love finding a good gun club when we move to new areas. Montana is going to a blast, literally!

I too enjoy the comradery of shooting with friends at a target range. The banter among us ranges from subtly to downright bawdiness. However, to focus on my handling and shooting techniques, I find that training alone rather than with shooting friends is more beneficial.
Last week I trained alone and spent time on trying to smooth out my technique of shooting single, followed by double tap and then triple tap.
Hit patterns on my first three targets were quite scattered. However, after shooting 150 rounds of FMJ ammo, I shot one last set on a new target placed 7 yards from my shooting position.
I am well pleased with the result.
Concentration is best achieved without outside influences such as jibes by friends about the ineptitude of my shooting ability. Ha, ha, ha (even though it might be true).

Every day I walk in the forest with my dog. I bring a different gun and shoot at random stuff while the dog looks for critters.
Here he is working[kind of].. then taking a break..

Didn't get to shoot. But spent most of the day walking around the deer lease with my son. Saw several deer, 4 turkey, a couple of cranes flying overhead, ducks & a hawk. But alas, no pigs which were the target of the day.
Still was a great day.

My office is moving his week, so I'm "working from home". Took my daughter to the range this morning.
She shot her XD-45, ok, stayed in the black "dad, I need something more manageable", she's petite to say the least.
I let her shoot a K-22, ND 36, 3913NL, 640-1, Sig P239 and a P225A.
I'm trying to decide which of the Sigs I shoot better, juries still out. I needed more distance, she didn't.
"Working from home" again tomorrow , more range time !

Two rounds of Wobble Trap with a bunch of my retired buddies. We meet. Meet twice a week for trap or skeet. Head to the pistol range tomorrow; retired life is GOOD.

Not to worry.....we ALL have had those days....anyone says they haven't are just being untruthful......
Lot's of reason for it....stress..bad food..something else on your mind at the time..low concentration period...your girl friend just told you she wrecked your new $44,000.00 king cab truck..etc...etc..etc...

Yep those ‘may’ happen to me, I just dont tell anyone. My mantra is publish the good days only.
I do though have a day off coming up and am sneaking in some range time... so will admit to any good or bad rounds just to be fair lol

Gotta go again this weekend for sure.....
Just got my 3 magguts +2 extension springs -- so will have to test out the 2 8 rounder mags with the new springs before I add the +2 to the 7 rounder....Gonna cost me about $44.00 bucks for range time, targets, 2 boxes of ammo....
But the weather is going to be beautiful and the range is an outdoor range so all is well.........

Kimber Camp Guard 10 and Colt Series 70 left resized.jpg
Took this Kimber Camp Guard 10 and my venerable Colt Series 70 1911 to shoot side-by-side for comparison. Full SAAMI-spec 10mm handloads made for a thumper, but the Kimber handled it well and I took turns with a friend shooting steel plates. He had a Sig P230(?) competition model. HECK of a shooter!
The Colt chugged along with some Magtech 230-gr hardball. Hammered the same plates.
This was after an informal shotgun shoot with friends. THEY all had 12-gage autos with looong magazines.
*I* started with my L.C. Smith side-by-side - 410. Yeah, they out-shot me.
THEN I changed to my Mossberg 500 - also 410. They still out-shot me, but I think I had WAAAY more fun.
The only pix I have of the LC Smith are close-ups of the engraving and gold inlay. Don't have any of the Mossberg. It probably feels insulted.

Also taking the little lady to the range today. She has a M&P 22C and a M&P 22 full size. She loves to shoot them both...
She favors the full size as it has a better trigger...

Had the day off so hit an area indoor range this am. Tried for the first time some 124gn in my PC Shield. The target image (7 yds) was one of my better ones today; though not a high level of consistency on each mag worth. In fact i will blame it on the dimmer lighting making it harder for my eyes today to pick up the FO front site clearly. All kidding aside that did seem to bother me today.
And yes some other targets had mixed results, some hits dead on and other rounds a couple+ rings out.
I’ll add the target sheet is smaller, the black circles measure 2”x2.5” (usually my pix include the gun for reference)...
Oh well, got in an hour of practice and playtime so cant complain there.
And as for 124 vs the 115 i use normally, perhaps a very slight improvement with the 124 but i’d have to shoot more of it to get a better idea. As i have had days where my targets look great with the 115.

Not today, but yesterday. 500 rounds through the 2.0C as fast as I could re-load the mags, double tapping all the way. No FTF's. Another 400 through the Shield-9, nothing but happiness.
