That surpasses propping or laying mint condition guns on jagged rocks to take 'pretty' pictures

Have you seen the 'We the People' Sig 1911?
1911 | Sig Sauer
I agree that the frame came out too glitzy. Maybe you could try something like the Sig by using your slide process on the frame.

Here is the finished version, for anyone who cares. It is pictured beside my stock, safety equipped version.

I don't hate it nearly as much as your first version!

I refrained from commenting on your 1st pic. But the finished product looks cool.

It doesn't look like a used pistol. If you're just going for a unique paint job, you got it. But you said you were going for the well used look. This still doesn't get it.

Sure are a lot here who think the only thing that is right is what they themselves like aren't there? I am not going to try to duplicate what you have done but I think it looks fine now that the frame has been toned down.

If somebody did that to my gun I'd use it on them.

I don't think that's what's happening here at all. The OP said...

Not for me, but making the gun your own is part of the fun.

is it my taste? no. If it's Your taste...that's what matters. Plenty of people would look at mine, and scoff.

this is why Baskin-Robbins makes 31 flavors, folks.

It's a plastic gun, not much could make it look any worse to begin with.

Hey, it's cool 'cause there's some great synergy happenin' there, since the 'look' exactly matches the state of current S&W semi-auto handguns; ugly, rough, disposable rattle-can chunks of recycled crud pretending to be something they're not - a quality product. They're the Cadillac Cimarron of the handgun world. Matches perfectly.
