I had some time after dropping off the grandkids at school so I gathered up my gun bag, guns, ammo, etc, and went to the range.
The range I frequent is Shoot Smart on the North freeway in Ft. Worth. I arrived around 10:00, asked for a private lane and got one within 3 minutes. I like the private lanes even though they are a bit more $$, because you can draw and shoot, shoot quickly, and not have to worry about what your neighbor is doing. You don't have anyone popping in to see if they can shoot your guns.
I took the Springfield Mod 2 9mm and .45 acp subcompacts, and the Shield 1.0 9mm and .45 acp guns with me. I was there about an hour and a half and shot probably 200 9mm rounds and 200 .45 acp rounds. I was mainly getting reacquainted with all 4 guns since it has been about 3 months since I last got a range visit.
I put Crimson Trace lasers on the Shield .45 and the Mod 2 .45 and both had to be adjusted. Supposedly the CT lasers are preset to be spot on at 50 feet. One of them was high right and the other was high left. A couple of turns of the small hex key and they were in much better position.
No targets to show unfortunately, but , as you know, a day shooting is better than pretty much a day doing anything else.
