Default Super happy with my Apex Tactical gunsmith fit threaded barrel

Finally broke down and spent the money on an Apex Tactical threaded gunsmith fit barrel and super happy. So far it has been an excellent return on the money spent. Doug over at ATEi did the fitting and very happy with his work as well. No endorsement deal or kickback from either company. Just my honest review. Here is a short video I made last week shooting out at 100 yards. Apex Tactical Gunsmith Fit Threaded Barrel At 100 Yards - YouTube

I have two 9mm cans to try with it, but have not done so yet. Need more time in the day.

I have the same set up and also love it. The slide will wear in quickly. With a custom fit barrel it is a little sticky going into battery. Keep it greased for a while. The trigger system is half the equation for slow fire accuracy.

Personally, I think the video is more a testimony to your good shooting. Don't know what the dimensions of the target are either. 9x12" or so?

The only way to really quantify the guns accuracy is to take the human element out of the equation with something like a Ranson Rest.

That would be very interesting, particularly in a no wind situation. Don

Target plate size is 19" x 11".

I like your ideas. I've always wanted a Ranson Rest of some kind to play around with different loads, barrels, triggers, and even test out/compare different handguns.

I did notice the going into battery issue at first. I've kept it lubed with Lucas Oils Extreme Duty Gun Grease and it has been fine. Almost 500 rounds through it since the Apex barrel so going into battery isn't an issue anymore. Have just over 4,000 rounds through the slide and frame. My brother in law was trying to persuade me to buy the 2.0, but I can't really see a reason after modding this one to my liking.
