380EZ on it's way home from S&W
Just got a e-mail from Fedex that my pistol is on it's way. That was a quick turnaround.

Mine is there for the recall/upgrade to the thumb safety. It has been reported that the thumb safety will self activate from recoil.

This is from the repair for the thumb safety activation. At least in my case it is.

Mine came in like a lot of others, I can not see any difference but I don't have time to shot it until this weekend.

Was thinking the same thing. Half expected the "me too" to continue for a couple dozen posts. Seems most are for a recall update, but still.
Good luck everyone.

THIS is the gun I would buy my wife.
Period.
Of course, I'd have her try it out first (hopefully we'll find one to rent), but this gun -- non-safety version -- is a big win for S&W.
They'll get the bugs worked-out, but we won't bother with a safety, anyway. Just one more thing to go wrong.

My dealer sent 2 of the 380's back to smith because of defective grip safety,I plan on getting one of these when they get the bugs worked out!

Ours returned on Thursday afternoon. The thumb safety is more of a definite detent. We took turns shooting off the back deck without any issues. Though the thumb safety would not have been my choice, my wife wanted it.
Thirteen days from drop off to return. Credit to S&W for a speedy upgrade.

made a trip to the range and put 50 rounds downrange. mine has the thumb safety. this gun has a wonderful trigger and very little recoil. it is going to be a carry gun....have already ordered Wright OWB holster. i really believe Smith is going to sell alot of these. not one glitch today.

I went to Wright Leather Works website Gun List - Wright Leather Works LLC and didn’t see the EZ listed. Did you pick a listed mode or contact them to see if they had the gun mold for it?

as TCU said, go to the individual holster and it should be listed. i ordered the Predator Pancake. have several of them and they are very top shelf.

Got my EZ back yesterday. Definitely a reasonable turn around time from Smith. The manual safety feels to have a firmer engagement/disengagement to it. Oh, and did anybody else get an extra little "goodie" with their returned pistol?

My brother sent his back because the thumb safety would engage when firing. They sent it back after putting in a new safety. Second time out, it did it again. It is back at S&W, and they said they hadn't applied the "fix" which includes a stronger detent and spring. Time will tell.

I second this! My wife is small framed, with even smaller hands, and she’s somewhat recoil sensitive. It was a challenge getting her comfortable with anything more than a .22 magnum. But the Shield 380 EZ has been absolutely PERFECT for her. She can easily shoot it, and manipulate the slide. Which was the two big speed bumps for her when she was shooting a smaller framed .380 before. She was recently showing her 380 EZ to my mother, and my mother has bad arthritis in her hands (long career as a dental hygienist), and even my mom could manipulate the slide, which is a huge feat for her. She liked it so much she immediately went down to the local shop and bought one. Heck even I like shooting the thing. It’s a heck of a lotta fun!

My nephew in Texas didn't have a work report (what exactly did they do). There was a work sheet with spaces for an armorer to make notations on the work performed. All were blank. I see some posters sensing a stronger "detent" to the manual safety.
Did any get a work sheet stating what was done?
My wife bought the no manual safety version. I don't own sidearms with any manual safety. However I don't think sidearms with manual safeties have problems.
Just in a SD situation__point and pull the trigger. (several times)
Stay safe.

Same thing here, nothing on the sheet about what was done, only thing I notice is it takes a little more effort to work the safety.

Great Pistol for my wife
Bought the 380EZ for my wife and she loves it. The M642 was too harsh and my 9mm Shield was to hard for her to run. This one she'll practice with and she likes the safety features. Picked it up for $400 out the door at my local gun shop.
