Default I did my part

I don't know whether to thank Smith & Wesson or cuss them out, but because of their rebate this summer I added two fine new pistols to the collection.

I've had a chance to shoot the Performance Center 40L and it's a great shooter, accurate and comfortable to shoot, but I've since added the Apex trigger and the Vortex Venom, so I'll have to start over with it. The trigger wasn't that bad, but it's pre-travel was way too long, it broke pretty good, but the reset just wasn't as precise or as audible as I like, so the Apex flat faced forward set sear with aluminum trigger went in. Big improvement, but the reset still isn't that tactile or audible so I'll be installing the Apex RAM into it. It sure is a sexy looking beast.

The Compact 2.0 3.6" hasn't been shot yet, but so far I love it. It's just the perfect size and it also is comfortable and just handles great. The trigger's pretty good, but I'm sure an Apex trigger would improve it, but at this point I'll probably keep it stock. I'm looking forward to trying it out this weekend.

Just judging from the posts on this forum, it looks like the Summer Rebate has been a big success for S & W. I did my part and helped out S&W, did you?
