How do I keep it from backing out when firing and the blade coming loose? If I loctite, I had better make sure it's where I want it, otherwise I have to break the loctite free again to adjust correct?
Can I get it where I want it and just put a drop on the edge of the set screw and hope it works it way down into the threads a little?

You may want to try a low viscosity“wicking” thread locker. Loctite 290 is one such product. Use with caution because it requires heat for disassembly.
Before you start with the Locktite type products, remove the screw and completely degrease the screw and the screw hole. Put some clear fingernail polish on the screw, not a gob but just give the threads a good even coating. Set the screw and give it 24/48 hours to cure well. Take it shooting and see what happens. I've had pretty good luck with this method and best of all, it requires no heat to remove the screw when you get ready to do so. Good luck!
