Not an LE here, but I just picked up a new 2.0 LE model. Nice, nice gun. Trigger is excellent, palm swells and grip texture make for a great grip. Night sights are nice..... but I haven't got out to run it through the paces... This weekend, I'll hammer it out. But the LE I picked it up from, shot a couple hundred rounds, had nothing but praise for it. Sold it because he is a twenty year Glock guy, wanted to try one out and just felt more comfy with his Glocks..

I picked up a M&P 9mm 2.0 Compact $429 4 Mags W/O night sites. I'm retired NYPD and I love it! It's a Glock M19 killer!

LEO here. I have a 2.0 with 4.25" barrel and it has held up perfectly. I am in an office most days and usually carry my 1.0 9c. I take my 2.0 out for the few times I wear a uniform, if I am in tactical gear and search warrant services. I love it.

It's been known to tear up some uniform shirts or your arms a little bit with the rough grip texture, but that's about it. Been as flawless as the 1.0 M&P, but with just a tiny bit better trigger.

I have one. Don’t know of much difference from the regular 2.0, except for night sights and three magazines. The grip texture may seem a little rough at first, but after you shoot it awhile you get used to it. If it really bothers you, you could lightly sand it or install aTalon grip.
I predict you will really like the pistol.

To reduce the catching on clothes or the grip is slightly too rough, just swap the rear palm swell from a 1.0, same size palm swell, like a large for a large. Quick and cheap solution, and you can easily switch it back.

Im retired LE and was big into Glock and an armorer. Im now a court officer and carry a M&P 2.0 compact. Hands down I prefer this S&W over Glock. It does wear on my dress clothing but no more than any other pistol. Im sold on this 4 inch compact. I just ordered one in 40 to go along with my 9. Without a dout better than Glock. Steel sights, steel single recoils spring assembly, steel magazine release, hidden steel chassis , steel magazines, superior grip texture and angle, I just love this pistol. It just shoots where you point it and I cant praise it enough. I own a lot of pistols this is by far the best. Its awesome!

No cartridges flipping over while in the magazine?
That was a dig on some whacko PD that claimed this with the 1.0 where the officer couldn't admit that he was probably distracted while loading his firearm and claimed the cartridge did a 180 degree flip in the mag.
Such are the politics of pistol contracts.
