Default Shield Mod 1 Trigger

I've had my Shield for about two years and I'm still not happy with the trigger - it's gritty and too much trigger pull. Thought by now it would have smoothed out, but it hasn't

I'm wondering if you can exchange the Mod 1 trigger with the Mod 2? It seems to be a lot smoother and a lighter pull. Or is there another way of improving it???

I ruled out the Apex trigger system as I don't like the safety on the trigger itself, I prefer the style of the Shield.

TIA,

Ed

I could be totally wrong but i believe there are more parts than just the trigger that would affect its feel and how it works. Never modded one so not sure.
Anyhow you could possibly find it may be a decent value to buy a Shield 2.0 on sale to get all its upgrades over just buying new parts for your 1.0.

My Shield is a PC which already has a different trigger and sear; SW will do some PC mods to a gun but you have downtime and cost to consider.

Some on here have done some cleanup on their Mp’s like polishing which may be do-able at home and may help the trigger feel. .

You can install the Apex kit without the actual trigger. It’s the sear, striker block and some springs. I think it’s Duty action carry or something like that. Smooth 5.5 lb pull, or 4.5 with stock trigger spring.
It was worth it to me back then.

Before yo do any major changes try polishing first. It does make a big difference. You'd be surprised at how rough the MIM parts can be.
