Need a source for M&P backstraps
I have several M&P9 1.0 Full Size pistols and I would like to replace the medium backstraps with backstraps from a CORE or a 2.0. This way I can have the more aggressive texturing where I want it.
I have tried all the usual sources: Brownells, Midway, ebay, Gun Broker and even called S&W Customer Service (no one answered).
Does anyone have a better source for these??

I have not seen any 2.0 grips for sale anywhere either.
I want a large 2.0 for my 1.0 FS9 but someone said they won't interchange. I hope they're wrong. I could give a shot at stippling one of the older ones myself but would prefer the 2.0 texture as is.
Maybe someone who has a 1.0 and 2.0 could chime in if they interchange.

Yes, they do fit
A 2.0 backstrap does fit the 1.0 frame perfectly. Also, a CORE backstrap fits as well.

I bought a 5" CORE slide kit that came with the new backstraps. They fit perfectly on my FS 1.0.

WHEN did you call S&W? They are closed Saturday. Try again Monday when they are open. You may have to be patient.
Just in case you used the wrong number it is 800-331-0852, listen for and follow the prompts.

I have a Medium Core backstrap that I would sell you for $10 shipped. I don't use the medium and neither does my wife. (it's one of my old guns and I don't shoot it anymore so my wife appropriated it ) Contact me via PM if you're interested.

There's a guy on ebay selling a complete set of 2.0 backstraps for...
...wait for it...
$120 PLUS $10 shipping.
You'd have to really want a set for that.

Thanks for the link! What pattern do you have? How aggressive are they? I’d like to find a pattern for my 45c that is close to M2.0 aggressiveness. I tried doing my own which looks close to their small dot pattern but it still feels a little slicker than i would like.

Friday at 2pm! Yes, that's the number I called.
In their defense, I have always had a good experience with the Customer Service. I am certain this is an anomaly. I will call again on Monday and report on what they tell me.

I have the dot style. Very happy with it, provides more than adequate “grippiness” and I usually err towards more traction than less. Besides I think it’s more visually appealing than the other styles.
That said, we may have different views on grippiness

A2 website...
indicates they are all sold out of BLACK medium backstraps. So I ordered FDE - one of each pattern - to see which I prefer. I will let you all know. Thanks again for the A2 link.

Well if you don’t mind humoring me...On a scale from 1-5, 1 being factory 1.0 grips, and 5 being the new 2.0 grip texture, where would you say it lands?
(The one I did probably lands between 2-3 on my scale, like a mild sandpaper)

Probably a 3+. But it’s not like sandpaper in terms of grippiness, but the texture is certainly better than the original ver 1.0. Tough to describe, but the texture helps adhere the gun to the heel of my palm without the gritty feeling of sandpaper.

Thanks that does help! I may try one more texture on my own before I dive in, but it’s good to know it’s a real option.
