Default Slide differences in Shield 1.0 and 2.0?

Curious as to whether or not any one has tried to swap slides between generations on the Shield specifically. I know it has been done with some success on the full size. I will be purchasing another shield shortly but was wondering whether or not I could swap the slides around. Basically end up with a 1.0 PC slide on a 2.0 frame and a 2.0 slide on a 1.0 PC frame.

IIRC... The differences are purely cosmetic and you should be able to swap them.
Wasn't this asked, just a week or so ago?
(maybe it was on another S&W forum)

I'm curious why anyone would switch between the two?

Maybe if the 1.0 slide had a red dot mounted on it.

As was explained in a lengthy discussion here some months back, which included the expert input from an APEX employee who designed the APEX barrels for the M&P, there is a slight functional (not cosmetic) difference between the 1.0 and 2.0 9mm slides.

Some extra material was added to the 2.0 slide by S&W to prevent some very subtle STRETCHING of the slide while the round was going down the barrel. That stretching affected accuracy. The larger caliber slides did not have the same problem, as they were a bit more robust.

Aren't there some slight/subtle changes in the slides where the slide stop is located? (I only have a 1.0 M&P Pro.)

I have a 1.0 that was originally a 40. I have barrels in 9mm and 357 Sig that I would like to use in a different slide as the sights are slightly different between the 40 and 9mm/357 Sig. I would buy a 1.0 9mm slide if I could find one, but 2.0 seems to be the only type for sale. I guess I'd also get the bonus of reduced stretch and extra serrations if I use the 2.0 slide.
