Thanks for passing along. Good to know since I’m picking up a new 66 combat magnum this week from the px (along with 15% discount for Father’s Day sale, and no sales tax). ;-)

I like the idea, but hate the execution.
I like that the company wants to recognize those who served in the military. I don't like that they're using this as an advertising tool. I further dislike that they've excluded almost all the guns that are most likely to be purchased.
It's like receiving $50 for your birthday and then being told you can only use it a particular way. That's not really a gift, is it?

I dunno...I'd be thrilled if I actually got something for my birthday. Not that I didn't buy myself, I mean.

I was thinking about a M&P 9 Compact, but probably wasn't going to buy one. Two sales and a rebate changed my mind. Academy put the M&P 9 Compact on sale $50 off, and also had 10% off for military with ID.
End result: $351 plus tax.

Used this a lot last year, and they never capped out like the fine print stated. It was enough to put a nice dent in accessory purchases. Thanks S&W!

Submitted it for my recent 442PC purchase, we'll see how it goes time-wise.

The problem i see is that i can get the same guns from my local dealer for cheaper than the final price after rebate. kinda defeats the purpose. Nice gesture for vets though.

Um, I don't mean to sound condescending in any way; but, I also don't want someone to be dissuaded from participating. What you stated is impossible. After you purchase from your local dealer, once you apply the rebate, the net cost to you will be less than even the amount for which you purchased from your local dealer, by the amount of the rebate. I may be missing something and am open to alternative means of getting the best deal possible.

HUH ????? over my head ...... lets say S&W MSRP is $476.00 and your local dealer will sell it to you for $376.00 and then you submit the rebate. therefore this statement..."i can get the same guns from my local dealer for cheaper than the final price after rebate." is over my pay grade.......

I did not know about this rebate when I purchased my 2.0 compact yesterday, but I got it on sale for $50 off and now I learn of a rebate for another 50. Best surprise purchase in a long time. Pick up the pistol tomorrow.
