Default Bodyguard mag release

I was wondering if the newer bodyguard 380s are coming with a metal mag release now? Mine is older probably about 2 or 3 years old and it has the plastic release. I had heard that SW started using metal ones to avoid the problems many have had in the past. If so I was wonder if the factory can swap mine out for piece of mind. I know that Galloway makes an aluminum upgrade version, but I don’t want the extended type that they sell. Just the standard length if possible.
