Default M&P 2.0 grip/tool looseness.

Sorry if it's been mentioned before.

When I purchased my M&P2.0 45 one issue I had was the looseness of the take down tool with smaller back straps.

But the gen 1 back straps and tool will fit the 2.0

The gen 1 tool fixed my issue.

I prefer the gen 1 tool over the gen 2. I ended up using a 1.0 back strap on it. (The Normal 9/40 1.0 back strap fit with no issues.)

Also called S&W and even though the 1.0 tool is very tight in the 2.0, there shouldn't be any issues using it.

They were out of stock but ebay/midway/brownells carried them.

Just a heads up for people who were having back strap/tool fitting issues. This fixed my issue without having to JB weld or add material to back straps.

Don't you just hate having a loose tool?

lol I just found it annoying is all.

The 2.0 is a thin piece of stamped steel.
The 1.0 is actually a steel rod and is a tighter fit and retains the back strap better.

It's kind of a joke the 2.0 is also supposed to double as a lanyard connection point. I don't believe it would be very secure/have enough retention for that.
