Trijicon or HiViz sights for edc
I just wanted to see what other people preferred for their edc gun between Trijicon and HiViz.

For EDC, the stainless sights on my 649 or the three-dot night sights on my Sig Ultra Compact 1911....... and lots of practice to minimize the time needed to hit what I am pointing at.

I can’t figure out how to respond to just brand name request when so many different models are available. Are you asking about an optic or white or colored night sites vs. fiber optic sites?

Tough question to answer definitively, and expect lots of different answers. Here is one:
I have a Kahr P9 with night sights that I have carried a lot in low light and used in carry competition, including low-light shoot houses. I shoot IDPA and USPSA quite a bit, and my standard guns with those use FO front and plain black rear.
I have found night sights to be very little practical use because my usual limiting problem is I can't see the target enough to tell what I'm shooting at. No good getting center hits on a "hostage" target in a shoothouse.
I'll take a good compact flashlight and FO sights every time shooting low light.

I have both tritium night sights and fiber optic sights. My favorite are the Tritium Fiber Optic sights. In these you get the glow of the tritium at night, but really bright sights in daytime.
For durability, nothing is better than Trijicon. Their stuff is virtually indestructible.

The fiber optics-or at least some of them-can break and lose the insert. I was on the same squad as one of the S&W pros at one TPC match. His insert disappeared during a string and he shot a no-shoot in the head. Dead center in fact. This is not a performance you might want to risk repeating in the real world.
I generally used a Trijicon front sight until they started making it possible to have a light on the firearm. It's still the way to go if you don't carry with a light on the piece.

Trijicon or HiViz sights for edc
Straight forward question regarding "brands" of sights.
I've always used Trijicon brand in my 25+ years of experience. Not saying others are inferior, I just usually stick with what I'm familiar with.

I use Hi Viz on my CCW pistols. They are bright in adequate light and will illuminate at night when the flashlight shines. I do have night sights on my G19 which helps me find it at night. I like that but it doesn't help me in light. I've come to realize that I won't get in a gun fight in pitch black (I have flashlights) and if I did I probably wouldn't focus on the sights but let instinct take over.

My 2.0 came with Tru-Glo FO/Tritium sights. You get the best of both worlds. I like mine but don't know how others feel about them.

I second that for most applications. They do have a slightly reduced sight radius because the front typically sits back a bit further than either an FO or tritium NS. For self defense only applications, I go Tritium because they tend to be a tad more durable.
FO only has it's limitations. Totally useless at dusk/dawn. I remember walking out of the woods at twilight where there was little/no ambient light yet you could still see trees, bushes, etc. The FO sights on my firearm were invisible for all practical purposes. The truglos are optimum for that environment. Bright fiber during the day and totally visible at all phases of transition.
