I use a HiViz front sight in green. Good target acquisition. Cheap.

Best for what and who? What is best for me and my needs may not be for you.

What are you looking for sight wise?

Also, great 45 you have there.

Love the compact.

I use a Heinie "Ledge" plain black rear, and a Wilson Combat gold bead front.

I put the Tru Glo TFX Pros on mine. Fiber optic with tritium. I know you said no night sights but these are the first night sights I've had and they are great. Daylight is awesome and they show up perfectly in low light or no light without being over powering. I got mine for $169 or so. Pictures aren't perfect but hopefully you get the idea. Oh, and the sights are steel and should protect the pipes and inserts well.
