I have a fullsize P320 with an Apex trigger and the accuracy is pretty comparable at 7-10 yards between them. At 20-25 yards the fullsize is easier to keep on target. That said I like the trigger on the p365 just a hair more because it's lighter and smoother.

Yep, they're jacking it up cause it's hard to find. Kind of like Apple does with every new Iphone. Did the same thing with the P-320. Another reason to wait. Today I got an email from Brownells for a SC Sig P-320 (contrast sights of course) for $399. Always pays to be patient.

The g2c stainless model will work more than just fine although I don't know how well it will hold up to sweat. My shield and hk usp 40c both do okay with sweat, the roll pins rust on both but nothing else...

Thumbs down

I did not know Mac's 3rd P365 also had issues, which is very sad since as he said the 3rd p365 was recently made and has all the latest updates but even it has the trigger spring scraping mags.

Hopefully that vid will be on u-tube soon?

I know about MACs issues but I have 4 other friends with 365s and no issues. I love my Shield and G26, but there is nothing close to the size and round count. Sig just needs to tweak some things and get a little more quality control and they will be fine.

I was able to put a some rounds through a 365 this week and found it too small for my hands along with a G43.

The Shield fits my hands much better and I am more accurate with it. I will be getting a Shield for carry along with my 640.

So I finally got to see the P365 in person today. Daaaaaaamn That thing is sweet. I can't believe you can do 12 rounds in that thing. I can wait another year easily. Hopefully more ranges will have it to rent by then.

However my question to those that have a shield 9mm and a P365 is, is the P365 a softer shooter, about the same or snappier then the Shield?

Since I'm on a S&W forum, I do have a few months old M&P9 2.0 with the 5" barrel and I really like it. And yeah, a bit contradictory with paragraph #2. Don
I love the looks of my Ruger SR9C, and it is a dream to shoot, probably because it's so heavy! The only problem is that is a beast to carry IWB, very uncomfortable, and heavy! I ain't selling it though, it's a keeper.

The M&P compacts (Shield or 9c's) are more comfortable to carry, lighter, and shoot just about as well - and are nice looking to boot!

If I had to choose, I would probably keep the M&Ps, but it would really be a tough decision.

What gets carried the most by me is my little Taurus PT738 as a BUG, Taurus PT111G2 because it is so comfortable to carry. Then the Smiths (9c and Shield) and lastly the Ruger 9C. I almost always have a BUG.

HA !

I paid $1.79 for my fire extinguisher and $2.99 for my parachute.

Still looking for a defibrillator for under $10.

As I recall, initial production Shields were being sold at a price pretty close to MRSP until the frenzy was over. Keep in mind that the P365 comes standard with tritium sights and definitely has a better trigger than the stock Shields.

I paid over MSRP in August 2012 for my Shield and couldn’t find another within literally 100 miles, despite launching in April. And I’d pay it over again if I had to. Both of my P365’s were $450 out of pocket each at Cabela’s by buying discounted gift cards.

Question

From all I hear Sig claims that all P365's made after July 18 are now 100% fixed, but heard that before.

Did watch a vid of an August made model and the dude had the follower stick in the slot cut out for the mag release and he had a rough time loading more then 5 rds. in that mag!

They are ok but not brand new production....I bought one

Both are easy shooters to me. The p365 is my best shooter for a small gun. It’s sometimes just love putting rounds through

Different strokes for different folks. Sig makes great guns but always seems to have Quality control issues when they push an item too quickly to the market, like the P320 triggers and the 'voluntary upgrade' and the striker pin on the P365. My current stable of M&p's (and some non M&P's) have worked just fine for me up until now and at the end of the day, a bird in the hand is worth more than 2 in the bush.

I have both. Nothing wrong with my Shield 1.0. I have a beautiful Wright's holster, 5 magazines, and many range trips with this gun under my belt. My wife and I just shoot the 365 better. We've had zero problems and it is now my carry weapon. We still shoot the Shield and have no plans to sell it. If money is an issue, go for a used Shield. It's a great value.

I have conceal carried a few different guns over the years. Ruger SR40c (1 year), Shield 40 (1 1/2 years), Walther PPS M2 (1 year), PC Shirld 45 (2 years). Now I have been carrying a P365 since mid April. I have put over 10,200 rounds of various brands and grains through it with ZERO problems. It is such fun to shoot. Hence the round count. It's even more fun since I went green. The Lima365 green laser. Love it.

Surprisingly, not that much bigger, and it's melted edges make it feel and fit smaller! On top of that, it is amazingly comfortable to carry IWB!

The Shield is a great gun, no question. The 365 has a major advantage with the 12+1 magazine. I don’t think any gun of it’s size is so capable, but I could be wrong, and it fits in my pocket bone stock.

I have many carry pistols, and had for a short time the P365. Although the one I owned shot flawlessly for 500 rounds, the weapon just never ergonomically fit my hand right, only possibly with the 12 round mag.

The lingering reliability problems with this pistol (Youtube MAC Channel, purchased 3 separate P365s each one seriously flawed), and this not honestly being publicly addressed by Sig forced me to sell it.

My P365 with a born date of 28 June 2018 still evidenced severe striker drag, where my Glock 42 didn’t, sort of dispelling the "all subcompacts have striker drag" meme used to defend the P365.

Call me paranoid, and despite the others glowing anecdotal reports aside, I can't trust my life on what maybe a ticking time bomb.

Current carry collection

My P365 with 12 round mag

P365 striker drag, next to my Glock 42 showing NO striker drag, This dispels the “all subcompacts have striker drag” meme.

I just test fired a S&W Shield for the first time yesterday, the original model (I have dry fired the 2.0 model at a LGS) and was surprised how nice this pistol is, fits better in my hand with the 8+1 mag then any other Subcompact I have shot, Glock 43, PPS M2 with 7 round Mags, and the P365.

The Shield to me had less recoil and was even more accurate then all of the above. I'm picking one up tomorrow. Now which one? Laser, Tritium sights, or the PC with the Hi Rez???

Get the PC. I have the PC 45. It shoots/handles better than my Shield 40 or the 9 I rented at the range.

Do you have the Hi-Rez sights, and how are they holding up?

Also, does the porting really help out, and how dirty does it get the weapon?

I carried a Beretta 96D and then two different Sig P226 weapons before I retired. The Beretta was a piece of total junk and the 226's were tack drivers. I'm sure the P365 will be much better in the future but for now, I'll stick with what I know: Thousands of rounds fired through the Shield with ZERO weapon malfunctions.
Wise move. I own pistols from both companies, but I would take a Shield over a SIG P365 any day of the week.

The Shield to me had less recoil and was even more accurate then all of the above. I'm picking one up tomorrow.
"Fits better in my hand than any other Subcompact I have shot" ...
Yep, and that's a great review, coming from a guy like yourself who has at least 5 EDC pistols. I have not handled the P365, but I can say with confidence that the M&P's have the most ergonomic feel of any handgun I have ever held. When it comes to the grip and feel, M&P knocked it out of the park a long time ago, and the others are still trying to catch up.

Yeah.. the internet sensationalism is to blame for blowing the P365 issues astronomically out of proportion. The failure rates are well below industry standards. No more than any other gun. That being said. I own both a shield and a P365, and I trust my life to both of them.

I feel it's pretty reliable now with over 10,000 rounds through it since mid April.

I really get tired of all the "accuracy" talk nowadays. It used to mean something when people had the skills to shoot good groups at 25 yds. As far as the 96D not being as accurate as your Sigs, well it is really comparing apples to oranges. One is double-action only, while the other is traditional double-action, and how about calibers? While the Shield is a fine pistol, I have a very knowledgable buddy who has one and has sunk a lot of money into upgrades, i.e. sights, trigger group. I took a chance on a Sig P 365 and mine is a fine pistol, out-of-the box. Over 1,200 rounds through it so far and it is like the Energizer Bunny. I pretty much don't pay attention to internet chatter, even from respected internet stars anymore, since the witch trials of late regarding Sig products. I only own two, a Sig P 320 compact and a Sig P 365. Glad you are happy with your Shield, but that doesn't make any other similar pistol inferior.

The 365 troubles disappointed me. I had a shield which I found inferior to the Glock 43 (except in price, the sub $300 you can often find the shields for make them one of the first guns I recommend to new carriers). I love my 43, but the 365 blew both of them away as far as capability and shootability. If one day the stigma wears off enough for me to trust them I'd love one to carry.

WHAT 365 troubles. I believe they have been taken care of. I have a mid April 365 with over 10,000 rounds with ZERO problems/troubles. SIGGY is one tough little pistol. LOVE IT.

Thanks to this thread, which I just discovered last month (haven't been here for awhile), we now own two 365s. Happened to be in the right place at the right time, as far as availability goes. They're late Sept. and early Oct. builds. Mine has worked flawlessly. Just hit the 600 mark.

Although my wife has easily handled her Glock 43 for the last few years, she was having a few problems with the 365. It worked perfectly for me, and is approaching 400 rounds. It appears to be some limp wristing, on her part, as we got that figured out.

My Shield preference is still the 45. Sure do like the smaller size and capacity of the 365, though.

Can you relate an experience where the primer mark has resulted in a malfunction? As far as, "ticking time bomb", that's the sort of drama which makes me dismiss much of internet gossip.

I had many Sigs over the years when the biggest option was K coat. I had many problems with my new 365 and dumped it. Since the guy from Kimber took over Sig those guns look real pretty but they are not as good as people think like Kimber. I will stick with my new 2.0 shield have thousands of rounds with no problems at all. Can't go wrong with Smith or Glock Sig hammer fire guns are ok but striker fire guns 320 365 no good to many problems. Look at US military 320 is a nightmare for them just my opinion as you can see I am pissed about what I went threw with 365 and firing pin kept breaking. I was only using American eagle ammo good luck what ever you think of going with get a fed ex acct if it's Sig just joking good luck.

No doubt there were some problems with the "early" 365s. I passed on purchasing one, even though I liked every single thing about it except the potential for being unreliable.

By the summer, it appeared the new ones, at least, were "fixed. Still, I waited.

Today I bought one with a September 30th Born On Date and expect it to work just fine for me. I'll find out Monday when my wife and I take the new 365 and the equally new Shield EZ to the range to shoot and, hopefully, shoot and shoot and ....

Best Wishes!!!!!!!!!!!

Everybody says all Probs fixed and guns upgraded if made date of July 18/2018 however there are many reports with Sept/October made guns with issues like before and many now also have issues with "Rust"!

Issues with latest batch are jams/peening, slide not locking back, dead trigger not resetting while shooting, rust, not extracting and just as before!

No I don't hate Sigs have several but would not want a P320 or a P365 I handled 1 months ago and for me its to big for a pocket gun and to small for a EDC, but with the 12 rd. mag it may be Ok as a EDC?

The 365 is the 2nd worst new production gun as far as issues go ever made, the worst was the USFA Zip-Gun and they were never able to get issues fixed and after 3 yrs. went under.

The 365 makes one wonder not if but when it will mess up, some of the U-tube reviewers who had no issues did get rid of them due to that.

Mac has 3 and all messed up, lately justinopinion tested a new 1 and had no issues then 2 weeks later he tested the new Sig 365 ammo and he had all types of issues with the gun. etc...

If and when Sig gets the issues fixed I will buy 1 since I love gadgets/gizmos but would not buy something with a record like the P365.

Omaha Outdoors was selling them for $499. free ship. last week but I passed!

You've made it clear on in other threads that you dislike the Sig striker fired pistols, yet have no personal experience with them. I, on the other hand, have purchased both the Sig P320 and P365. Each have well over a thousand rounds through them with no problems. I am not alone, as there appear to be an overwhelming number of owners who stand with me. I might understand your hate, if you had multiple problems and therefore feel as though you were cheated by buying a P365. This campaign of yours though, has me stumped. I have been carrying my Sig P365in a Vedder holster in my front pocket of jeans and dress pants for many months (see below). If you are of slight build, carrying any handgun in the front pocket could be a problem. https://www.vedderholsters.com/pocke...CABEgJyCvD_BwEBTW, I've never owned or shot an AK, but have been shot at by one. At least that gives me some kind of grounds to hate them!

Once again, thanks to this forum (since I'd never looked at any Sig forums), I picked up the 365. Now hitting the 900 round mark, and have enjoyed shooting it so much, that I've been off to two different ranges three times in just the last week. Semi retirement is good!

It's running flawless, just as my Shield 45 has done for about the last three years. I always preferred the 45 over my 9mm Shield. It's always been more accurate (for me) at the 25 yrd. mark. These days, I wanted something smaller, and the 365 is fitting the bill. It too, is amazingly accurate (for me).

I posted that I'd shot my new P365 on the "EZ is Junk" thread (which I don't believe it is), but should have really posted here.

Ran two hundred rounds through it today, 100 WWB and 100 Hornady Critical Defense 115 grain. Not a problem in the world.

Mine came with two ten round mags, one flat based, the other with the small pinkie extension. I liked the little extension better than the pinkie hanging free (actually I curl it under the mag base sorta) so I ordered one of the 12 rounders with the longer extension when I got home.

I noticed two things with my gun-first a very nice trigger and secondly, much less felt recoil (to me) than shooting my Glock 43.

I will be shooting it more, but, so far, it looks like a good one.

I think you’re going to like the 365. I have 350 flawless rds through mine, factory and my own reloads.
As my friend WCCPHD says, “it’s a small gun that thinks it’s a big gun”.
For pocket carry, I see no other comparison in caliber, size and capacity.

I have a Shield .45 PC and I love it. I also have a Sig P365 I love it also. I generally carry the .45 in the winter and the P365 in the summer. But lately with the winter weather so mild I have been carrying the P365 more than the .45

as of now I have 5 S&W's... really like them, 1 snubby 38 revolver, a 380 BODYGUARD with lazer for my girlfriend (she's named it John Wayne) 2 SHIELDS (9mm & 45 acp) and a SD9VE... I like the SD, LOVE my shields and love the snubby... I don't really care for the 380 that much... Too small for my hand and don't like the trigger pull... But the lady loves it, so that's what really counts... Also have a Rossi 38, nice little revolver (just not plus P rated, and a Ruger BLACKHAWK that I purchased off an estate sale, 357. Don't know why I'm rambling but, just wanted to say that the SHIELD's are a great value in my opinion for quality, price and I've never had an issue with them... Thanks for listening to my ramblrs...

My Shield v2.0 #11810 came with three mags (two 8, one 7) and factory night sights (that work) for $415.

The original "Siglites" were made by Meprolight, who make high quality night sights.

Wow, this thread covers a lot of ground!

I love my Ruger RAP 9 compact. Looks and shoots great. Its a little heavy, but she is my favorite, on looks alone.

I also love my M&Ps, the 9c, the 2.0 Compact 9, 3.6, and the Shield 9 2.0. All great carry guns, and get used often. They are all great looking, shoot straight, and every one a keeper.

Don't forget the Taurus PT111G2, without a doubt, the most comfortable carry gun I have, Barr none! Nice looking, and shoot well, gets carried often! Even the 709 Slim has its place, and the Lil PT738TCP is a great BUG, and hider!

I even had a Beretta Px4Storm sub compact for a while, and it was a very nice gun, and superb shooter. But man, it Was butt ugly!

Not one of these guns has ever failed me! Every one reliable and accurate.

That being said, and I don't own one yet, I really do want that Sig P365, and it will be added soon!

You can never have too many carry guns, and it will be nice to spread them around when I move on!

I dont know about the Beretta 96...but Ive fired 1000"s of rds from my Uncles 92...and about 2000 rds from my 92 with out a issue...trouble is its Big for CCW. I have a P6 Sig that is flat work of art for accuracy and function, Its smaller then the 92. I still use the 642 For CCW.

Safety on P365 was shown at shot Show and should be available any time!

I will not buy a P365 till striker swipe on primers/casings and the issues with springs on trigger/bar scraping mags and then breaking is fixed, also many mags seem lately to have issues with not feeding or even loading proper!
