Default M&P 45 c ???

soooooooooooo, is S&W going to put out, or have announced ANYTHING about the M&P 45 compact in a 2.0 configuration? I'm super tempted on grabbing a M&P 45c to compliment my M&P 45 1.0 full size, but I know the minute I do, a 2.0 will be announced. And now that S&W has gotten the 2.0 FS 9mm, the 2.0 compact 9mm, the 2.0 compact 3.6 9mm (basically replacing the 9c) and the shield and full size M&P 45's, I'm HOPING that will be next .... hopefully in time to use the $50 rebate (although I'm not counting on it).

for those who have actually played around with a M&P 2.0, should i just get a M&P 45c in the 1.0 configuration with the rebate (about $360 before ffl fee), or just wait and hope for a 2.0 (a few places have m&p 45c mags for like $9-$10 right now, so it's even cheaper to stock up for, but I'm still itching for the 2.0)

oh, and so I don't make a second thread. Thinking of getting a M&P 45 2.0 some time, and was wondering if the 10 round M&P 45 mags will work with the 2.0, and will the 14 round extended mags with the grip sleeve work with them as well? I bought a pack of the 14 round mags with sleeves from Botach to go with my M&P 45 1.0 and was hoping to use them with the 2.0 if I got it.

Why not just get the Shield 45, it's already a 2.0

I have the 45c and the 2.0 9c; both are pretty much the same size. I like the 2.0 style rough grip, but won't be ditching the 1st gen 45c when and if the 2.0 comes out. My advice to you is to shoot and enjoy your full size 45 for a while; if you just HAVE to have a compact, get the 1 gen at the great price. I can't imagine that Smith would change magazine configuration if the 2.0 45c is introduced.

Well, the 12 round magazines used in the M&P 1.0 9c won't fit in the 2.0 9c (4" or 3.6") so it's possible they might do something similar for the 2.0 45c. I hope not, but it's possible.

The Shield 45 has the 2.0 enhancements, but if you want a longer barrel and more capacity magazines like the 1.0 45c, then it won't quite fill the bill. I like the Shield 45, but I'm personally hoping that S&W will produce a 2.0 45c with a 4" barrel and an 8 round magazine, with the ability to use the full size 10 round magazines with spacers like they did for the 2.0 Compact 9mm pistols.

already got the .45 shield (and 9mm shield lol). I was just thinking of adding something to my collection. the mag question was more about whether the .45 FS and .45 FS 2.0 would interswap mags as I have a bunch of the 1.0 10 round and 14 round mags, and if I DO get a Full size m&p 45 2.0 I was hoping to use those mags as well (and not have to stock duplicate mags)

The reason I'm thinking of adding a 2.0 FS m&p 45 is because my wife has been eyeing the m&p 45 1.0 I got recently with this hungry look in her eyes ,and I KNOW the outcome. This happens many time. I brought a glock 26 gen 3 home and withing 2 days it was suddenly in her purse. I buy a CZ-75 sp-01 compact and suddenly it's on HER side of safe (and I'm buying a second one), and when I saw her put her cute little mitts on my M&P 45 I cursed myself for not buying 2 of them

I don't know if you mean you are buying a second CZ-75 or a second safe, but it sounds like a second safe may be the way to go (and change the combination/keys to yours.)

lol, had to buy a second one AND a second safe .

she cutely bats her eyelashes at me when she does this and says "do you want me to continue to approve every gun purchase you make?" at which I hand over said gun and go look at buying another (she literally has zero problems with me bringing guns home and NEVER says "why did you do that?" so I have little room to complain when she commandeers one of mine)

All I can say is I bought a 45c in May and am in love with it. I bought 9mm Shield 2.0s for the wife and daughter and the daughter wanted a smoother grip so the rubber Talons are on hers. The wife likes the 2.0 as is. For concealed carry I prefer the 1.0 texture although the Talons are a good solution if need be. I can't find any faults with the 45c as is. I bought three 10 round mags with grip sleeves and those are great. Have two guns in one that way. I have no problems with the 45c trigger which seems to be the big deal in the 2.0. I'm sure the 2.0 is nicer but I shoot mine just fine.

Came close to just purchasing a brand new 1.0 model and being done with it. Real close. I hope they do something soon, too many temptations.

one thing I hadn't thought of. Has S&W fixed the infamous "M&P 45 mag springs kinking" ??? I remember back in 2012 (ish) there were LOADS of people complaining that the black/green/purple springs were kinking like crazy, and the blue painted springs had just come out and people were crossing fingers that they were fixed

Yes the spring issues have been fixed. S&W sent me new springs several years ago and my 45C has been 100% reliable for years.

I have an original M&P 45C that has been a very good companion, but I also have wondered if I should buy a new 2.0 45C should they ever be announced. The only thing I don't care for on my 45C is the infamous auto forward nonsense. That's where you slam a magazine in at slide lock and it automatically forces the slide forward. I'll admit when ever that has happened it has never missed picking up the shell in the magazine, and if I don't slam the mag it doesn't happen. S&W has fixed that glich by adding an indent next to the slide release.

All other things I didn't like about my M&P I have modified. I had the trigger worked on by S&W, I added grip tape for a more secure grip, and added Warren Tactical front night sights with a u plain black rear sight.

I think I just talked myself out of a possibly soon to be announced 2.0 45C.
