Shield 9mm Pocket Holster
I'm thinking of buying a used Shield for carry when I travel out of state. If something happens to it, I'll be angry, but not as angry as if one of my 3rd Gens is lost to me.
My first thought is a pocket holster, if the shield will fit. If not, then a IWB holster.
Nothing fancy, I don't want the holster to cost more than the gun!
Normally for a pocket holster I'd buy a Mika, but my next out of town trip is about 10 days away.
So, first, thoughts on carrying a Shield in a pocket holster. How does it compare in size to a CS9?
Second, if pocket carry isn't feasible, options for IWB carry. Kydex is fine.
Thanks,
Gary

I use a Uncle Mike's model 36 for my .380 Shield in my right front pants pocket. The 36 can also be used IWB.

I am currently using a Sticky holster for my shield and love it. It is so versatile because I can use it as a pocket holster or an IWB. The even greater advantage is so there are no clips I can adjust it to any position I need or want. Also, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

In the right size pocket and pocket holster Shield is an easy ride.
Desantis Nemesis is a good bang for the buck.

Another vote for the Desantis pocket holsters. I use them for all my pocket pistols. They're inexpensive and work great.

I have a Kramer pocket holster (which you will not get in 10 days unless you find a used one). I have found it, and the other Kramer gear I have, to be very satisfactory.

Personally, the Shield is too big for most of my pants to comfortably pocket carry (except in cargo pockets). The minimalist holster I prefer for IWB is the FOXX Deluxe Trapp. To your door in about a week, and around $50.

Thanks to everyone. I'll take a look at all of these. I have to look at the Shield as well to see if it's what I want. I might not carry it in a pocket, at least on this trip. There are pros and cons to pocket carry, as we all know.

If you want to go to the low economic end, an Uncle Mike's #4 will work, but will leave the rear sight exposed. Depending on how you are built, the size of the pocket, etc. and the pocket material, the sight can wear a hole in the pocket liner.
A Sticky MD-4 covers the sight, but overall the whole thing is larger which may impact how it works for you.
Good luck

A very good option to do both is a Desantis pocket tuck. You can go iwb or take the clip off and go pocket. It’s the best holster for the price.

The shield was too big to pocket carry for me and my pockets.
I pocket carry the Bodyguard 380

Desantis Nemesis V5 will work, and it doesn't cost much.

Remora will work in cargo pants. But it is a bit big but still doable.
I am only 5-7 and 165 lbs so it is a bit harder to hide than a larger stature guy!

+1 on Remora. I'll use that for IWB the few times I do that. I think the Shield 9 is a bit large for pocket carry. Can you get it in there, yes. Can you get it out easily? The only pistol that I do pocket carry is my NAA Guardian 380.
