I bought a used m&p 22 fullsize.
I am having lots of failure to eject and some failure to extract.
I also can not get the slide off.
I lock it to the rear and pull down the take down lever and try to pull the slide back and up. That back and up is a no go.
Any ideas?
The ammo is Federal target grade performance.
I bought one for my wife a couple years back. So many issues, we just sold it. I hope you find a solution soon!
Had the same issues with an M&P 22 Compact.
Are you pulling the take-down lever out of the frame? It won't come completely out, but it has to clear the return spring rod in order to pull back and remove the slide. -S2
Edit to add: I have one and although it's no target gun, it works great with SV ammo.
I was not pulling the take down lever out.
Thanks I just tried it and I got it apart and cleaned and lubed it.

Clean it real well. Make sure the extractor groove is clean. Also make sure it is well lubed. I spread mine with rem oil and work the action and spray it again. I rarely have any issues with any ammo, usually only after heavy use with a can and it just get too dirty. If you continue to have problems call smith and Wesson. They will get it straightened out
I have about 2200 rounds through my M&P22. It has never liked Federal ammo … lots of failures to feed and failures to extract. I have had good success with CCI Minimags and Aguila SuperExtra. Glad you figured out how to take it apart for cleaning.
