If you get to the point where you have to reload, a long magazine has attractions. If your car is caught in a "Demonstration" and you are about to get dragged out and beaten to death a quick magazine change and a lot of rounds into the faces of the attackers through the broken window can be reassuring.

I've wondered why M&P mags aren't more prevalent especially since M&Ps are eating up some of Glock's market share.

"Works..." That can have 2 connotations. Either "functions properly" or....."goes thru a LOT of ammo REAL FAST..!

Because people that buy Smiths are better shots and don’t need 30 rounds...hahahahahahaa.
Never trust any mag that says “Pro Mag” on it. If you do find one that works, enjoy it at the range, but not when your life could be on the line.

I hear a lot of people say this. They're still in business and they sell a lot of mags so, they must be working for someone.
The only ProMag I've ever used was for my Mini-14. I have about 5 of them and they work great. In fact, they work better than the factory mags. But that's just one example.

I have a Kel-Tec sub 2000 which accepts M&P mags. I have it because I also have an M&P. With a 30rd. mag you gain flexibility in a bad situation OR more fun at the range. Who wouldn't want 30 rounds for a carbine? Keeping loyal customers happy should at least be a consideration for Smith and Wesson. Can't see production of a 30-33 round mag breaking the bank for S&W. Just my .02 cents worth.

I must run out & buy a couple of those 33rd magazines for a Glock 18 to try in my Glock 26.. Just because.. I might need it someday & possibly a 22rd one for my Glock 24 too..

It would seem that the demand for 30 plus round mags is not high enough for s&w to care but there are plenty of options for others brands of " pistol " to cover most peoples needs . Maybe you should go back to gluck brand to fill your extra capacity needs .
