Default M&p 9mm 1.0 problem or me?

Most handguns I've fired i normally look down the slide rear to front sight and bang, bang, bang with decent groupings. But with the m&p 9mm 1.0(correct term for it?) It seems i have to tilt the nose down with the sights lined up and it still fires to left. Do i need a new barrel since I've read that some first gen m&p 9's suffered from the same thing?

Have you tried from a rest or having someone else shoot it?

It may feel funny but wrap your hands a little farther around towards your finger and shoot a few rounds with your index finger hooked to the trigger and your first joint resting against your finger. If the group moves to the right, you are shooting with too little trigger finger and/or not following through with a straight pull back. A lot of double stack guns do this or when you try to shoot the pistol like you are shooting a precision rifle with the pad of your finger.

The M&P's require a straight pull back and any side force on the trigger will throw your shots off. SA guns like revolvers and 1911's hide this shooter's flaw because the trigger comes to a stop as soon as it breaks.

Good advice. Insure you are pulling straight back and I bet the shots line up. Different triggers have different characteristics but they all respond well to a straight back trigger pull.

The best advice I've heard on triggers is it doesn't matter if you pull the trigger, squeeze the trigger, press the trigger, yank the trigger or jerk the trigger...just don't move the gun when you do it!

I had the same issue with mine. I really have to concentrate on pulling the trigger straight back. An Apex trigger worked wonders.

I have a 1.0 full size that is stock (I dont modify mine) that i shoot just as well as my PC shield as well as other models; all with different triggers. Range time and practice allows me to be consistant with each; putting the front sight on target.
But I know others who do not like the stock MP trigger or cant shoot it well; guess its just what works for the shooter and what they need.

I had the same problem when I transitioned from DA revolvers to plastic pistols. Not only did I hold the pistol like a DA revolver, I worked the trigger like it was a 1911.

I saw a YouTube video where Jerry Miculek showed his method of firing plastic pistols with his off hand index finger on the front of the trigger guard and his thumbs on the frame. I tried his hold and started pulling the trigger like I do on DA revolvers and the groups magically became centered and smaller.
