Default M&P Apex Trigger Shoe Re-set Question

O.K. Apex gurus, I have a question about something with which I need help diagnosing. I have an M&P 9c (1.0) that I acquired. It came with an Apex trigger shoe. In looking it over, it appears as though everything else is OEM, including the sear and the striker block.

The trigger appears to have what I call a double reset. By that I mean, I pull the trigger, hold it to the rear, re-charge the weapon and try to release the trigger to reset. When I do so there is a minor click/bump that feels like a reset; but, the trigger has not reset at that point. I need to release it a little more further forward for a "more solid" and "more audible" bump and click that is the true reset.

Please diagnose this for me and let me know what I need to do to remedy it. Fire away with any questions the answers to which would help. Thanks in advance.

You are likely feeling the trigger bar sliding off the striker block. You could try the Apex ultimate sticker block.

I have a 1.0 Compact and feel the “false reset”.

I had this issue with one of my M&Ps. Turned out that the trigger bar had enough travel that, during cycling, it would slip past the edge of the sear housing when the bar was pushed outward to disconnect it from the trigger. When the trigger was allowed to go forward, it would first slide off the sear housing (first click), then reset the sear as it moved farther forward.

Try this: Remove the slide. Ensure the sear deactivation lever is up to permit the sear to move up and down. Pull the trigger all the way back. The sear should depress fully. With the trigger held back, look at the back edge of the trigger bar to see if it is touching the front edge of the sear housing. There should be a small clearance.

While holding the trigger back, gently push the striker block tab on the back end of the trigger bar to the right (outboard). You should hear a click and the sear should pop up. This is how the sear is disconnected during normal operation.

While still holding the trigger back, look at the back end of the trigger bar. Is it past the right edge of the sear housing? Very slowly, ease the trigger forward. If the bar is past the edge of the sear housing, you will see it pop slightly inboard and hear a light click as it clears the housing. Continue to ease the trigger forward. When it moves far enough, it will allow the sear to reset (sear pops up and second click).

To resolve the issue I carefully removed material from the vertical back edge of the trigger bar tab until it no longer moved past the edge of the sear housing. This corrected the false reset and did not otherwise impede function.

Thanks for the responses guys. I will do these checks Coastie762. Saudade, I do have an extra Apex sear and striker block waiting to be installed in one of my M&Ps. I want to diagnose this before I try that. Who knows, this just may be my remedy.
