Before my 500th round, My Shield trigger broke and locked to the rear. I took it apart But NO way to unlock.
Has anyone heard of these failing?
Glad it happened at the range cause this would have been an expensive rock to throw at a bad guy, being this is my everyday carry.
Tomorrow I begin the return process.

Unless I missed it, yours is the first complaint about a broken Shield 45 trigger I've read on the Forum. I also have a Shield 45, and my impression, formed over the 5,300 rounds I've put through it, is that it is pretty robust. But even Smith & Wesson can make a clunker now and then. The good news is that their customer service is excellent. They will take back your Shield and will fix it at no charge as long as you own it. I hope S&W gives you a quick turnaround on your repair.
My only caution is that I don't recommend carrying any gun until you can put at least 500 problem-free rounds through it. Those should include a minimum of 100 consecutive rounds of your chosen self-defense ammo with no failures of any kind.
