Default S&W "Sub Compact"

Since Smith and Wesson has come out with the 2.0 Compact, which will compete with the Glock 19, do you think they will put out subcompact models in the near future? I sure how so!

I don't think that's even close to what he meant. Going with the intent of the initial inquiry, my guess is yes. I'm hoping they will maintain the old M&Pc with the new 2.0 upgrades and just simply call it the M&P 2.0 Sub Compact.

Yes, i would want a subcompact, double stack, 10-12 round, 2.0 M&P.

Just call it the M&P 9c/40c 2.0. I don't think S&W has ever referred to the long grip 4"/3.6" gun as anything but the Compact, so no naming conflict.

So you are looking for something similar to a g26 from S&W.

Sorry about the earlier confusion.

If S&W is going to produce a "sub-compact" 2.0, then they really need to go smaller than the 1.0 9/40c. I just got a M2.0 3.6". It's a 1.0 9/40c (which I also have) in terms of length. I think they need go with a 10-12 round pistol with a 3" barrel. That would essentially make it a double stack Shield. That would be a really sweet piece of hardware.

^^^ there is already +2 mag conversions out there. So the 8+1 std mag modified to add two more would give rhe single stack shield 10+1 in the chamber.

Seems to me the market would be small to sell a $300 double stack shield for 10 or maybe 12 rounds when a Person could spend what $60 on a magguts +2 kit and get almost the exact same end result.

Just my opinion.

I don't understand what the OP is asking for. The M&P9C 1.0 sounds like what he wants. The 2.0 with 3.6" barrel is its replacement.

It sounds like he wants a 2.0 version of the 1.0 9c.

The original M&P 9c is smaller overall as compared to the 3.6" 2.0. I'm thinking the op might be wondering if S&W will make something more akin to the Sig P365. A 10 round sub-compact (maybe with extended 12 round mags) that's smaller than the original -9c, and holds more rounds than the Shield.
I have the original -9c as one of my CCW options. While it's a great pistol, I'd be ecstatic if S&W brought something to the market that matches the P365.
