Default New Shield 45 M2.0 or is it???

Just joined the forum and the S&W family. I just picked up a Shiled 45 M2.0 on sale at one of my lgs as a new ccw to replace my LC9 that my wife wants for herself. It’s a nice big sale weekend with tons of reps there, talked with the Springfield and Smith reps as I was checking out the XDS 45 and Shield 45 and decided on the shield and very happy with it. I’ve seen threads similar to this but my exact quandary is the rep iterated and sku on the box 11531 point to this being a new 2.0. I know the 45 was the first Shield with the more aggressive stippling better trigger over the 1.0 9mm and 40’s, I shot a 1st gen 40 Shield and was very impressed with the feel. But the born on date on the box is August of 2016 so I’m assuming they are just deemed 2.0’s as they are the same gun as the original? The S&W rep even told me it was the 2.0 and for the price I got it for I have no complaints just curious if anyone else has had a run in of this type.

There was never a version 1.0 of the Shield in 45 ACP. All 45 ACPs in Shield are all 2.0, even though not marked as such.

I thought the only difference is that the more recent 45 shields have the slode stamped with 2.0 while the earlier guns did not have this stamp. Other than the stamp, the guns are identical. But that is only what I have read/heard. Is that fact or rumor. I am not 100% sure.

New Shield 45's do have the "2.0" marking on the slide.
