Exclamation Dawson sight issues

I recently purchased a set of Dawson sights for my M&P Pro Series 9. .200 tall front blade with a fixed rear. Well gun shoots too low now and turns out I need a .190 tall front sight. It also shoots a little to the left. Since Dawson does not make an adjustable rear I was looking into getting a novak but their rear sight requires a .250 tall front. Dawson told me that the front sight I purchased would not fit any other model M&Ps which I find strange. I have a M&P 22 compact I would love to put it on but not sure if I can. I'm not sure what route I should take in fixing my issues here, any advice would be great.

1. Purchase new .190 sight an drift the rear
2. Purchase new taller front and Novak rear to match
3. Will my .200 Dawson fit any other model M&P?

Also if you are thinking about getting a Dawson. Be aware that the only way you can ship a front sight back in exchange for a 1 time freebie is if you buy the recommended height setup they make for that gun. I didn't read the fine print and since my gun had what they recommended and already shot high I went with what their calculator said figuring I could avoid the hassle. Jokes on me.

Did you test the gun using a rest?

I purchased a Dawson fiber .180 front, and it hits to POA/POI all the way out to 25.

I'm using a Proctor Y sight for a rear.

I've purchased and installed a few Dawson sights for M&P's and 1911's. ( As recently as last week where I raised the POI on a 1911E series by going from to a .125" sight.) I generally just replace the front sight but have used their rear on occasion.

First, unless you are buying the set, you really need to be careful on what you order for height. As you note, they only give the guarantee with sets. ( Which is understandable.) Use their formula and assure the height is going to be right. When in doubt, go the next size up/down. Depending on what distance your shooting at, 0.010" isn't going to move things much.
( Something like 5/8" change in POI at 30').

BTW, beware of how you install them they are not real robust. I had a front sight installed by a SW armorer with a sight press and the sight ended up failing on my first range trip. Dawson claimed it was damaged during install . (I'm not 100% convinced of that but had no basis to argue. )They went on to say that they DO NOT RECOMMEND USE OF A SIGHT PRESS and charged me (1/2 price) to replace it. I ended up doing the second install myself which I usually do.

Bottom line: I love that I can custom tailor height with their sights ( and will continue to use them for that) but am now gravitating more and more to other brands.
