Default Getting better accuracy out of my M&P9

I have a S&W M&P9 (SKU 209301) with a 4.25" barrel that I'd like to fit a match target fit barrel. Does any one manufacturer (BarSto, Apex, etc.) stand out from the rest in terms of performance. I shoot a 115 Hornady XTP load exclusively (5.2 grains of Vit N340 in a Starline case). I have thousands of rounds left over from my bullseye shooting days.

No question, go with an Apex gunsmith fit barrel and throw in their flat faced trigger. You will be amazed at how well it shoots. I have a STI DVC in 40 and the M and P with Apex upgrades shoots just as good. Off hand I can usually keep them all in the 10 ring at 25 yards. Benched usually can shoot about 2” groups. I’ve never spent time working up an accurate load for action shooting that is all I need. I’d bet it could do much better. I couldn’t be happier with the Apex products or service.

I put an extended threaded Apex gunsmith fit barrel and flat faced trigger + other Apex trigger components in my 9mm and it is very accurate. The test target was five shots touching at 15 yards < 1/2” Blazer Brass 115 grn. Expensive and time delay for work, but worth it to me.

I have Apex Gunsmith fit barrel in my M&P 2.0 9mm and an Apex Gunsmith fit 40 to 9 conversion barrel in my M&P 2.0 40 Cal. Both are 1 1/2 inch groups at 25 yards with 124 Blazer Brass 9mm. I too put in the flat faced trigger. I had my 9mm slide milled and put on Trijicon Optic, crazy accurate. I will have to say the added weight of the 40 Cal slide shooting 9mm makes recoil almost non-exsistant.

One more apex fan ! My wife has a early run M&P 4.25 core . The pistol was the worst shooter I ever fired . Sent it home and s&w CS said it was fine , in spec and all that garbage . I ordered a apex competion trigger kit and aluminum curved trigger and when the apex barrel came out ordered one of those . Fitting it was a easy and what a difference it made .
I ended up swapping trigger return springs around till I got what my wife likes , a 3lb 14oz to 4lbs pull and its very capable of shooting 2" and less 25 groups with my general use practice ammo , a 124gr coated swc and 4gr titegroup . Carry ammo is 147gr hst +P is closer to the 1.5" at 25yards .
