Default M&P BG380 reassembly.

It has been awhile since I field stripped my BG380. My new sights came in yesterday so I stripped it, put the sights on, then when I went to reassemble it I forgot to make sure the barrel was all the way forward when I put the takedown lever in. I didnt realise what I had done until I went to function test it and the slide stuck about half way. I took it apart, checked everything for visible damage, put it back together and function tested it. All was well but Im still concerned I caused unnecessary wear/damage. I have heard stories of the older BGs having issues with the takedown lever breaking under recoil, but mine is the newer M&P version without the laser. Im 99% sure everything is fine but some reassurance from complete strangers would help my peace of mind.

Also, I have not fired it since this incident.

I agree. If you didn't use excessive force getting it apart it should be fine.

As RGV said, if you didn't beat it with a rock you should be okay.
And..... Welcome to the forum from Pennsylvania.
No question dealing with safety is stupid.
